Doggies skittering around on the floor

We don't have carpet in the house, we have wood-look high end vinyl (or laminate if you ask Monello, we have a difference of opinion on that, but you have to look close to see that it's not real hardwood, it's super good looking, but I don't want to go off my own topic).

Apollo can't get his footing and he's not smart enough to walk instead of run and jump around like a maniac, so he slides all over and I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself. At his age, break a hip and it's all over. Is there a solution to this problem? Like, put sticky pads on his paws so he can get a grip? No idea, but I feel like there must be a way to keep him from sliding all over the place besides replacing my lovely flooring with something I won't love just because the dog won't walk on it properly.

I believe vinyl is soft and quiet with most walking on it and,
Laminate is hard and much louder when walking on it, especially a pets nails.

What about narrow carpet runners to where he needs to go?

Would some small strategically placed throw rugs give him some cornering stability. You know the woven kind that can be picked up easily for entertaining.

Or maybe a cheap plastic laundry basket over him like a turtle shell?

I laughed when I googled ' Suction cups for Dogs"
I was looking for a joke picture, loads of stuff for adult dogs.. A few above.. The paint on stuff looked interesting. Good luck.

Hmmmm... I'll check this out. I hesitated to put doubleback tape on his paws (which would be hilarious to watch) because I know he'd just chew it off. This might be something worth looking into....

We have rugs he could use for traction if he wanted to but he likes to jump around where the rugs aren't. So there's that. :ohwell:

I would try it on one pad per leg first.. Maybe add the cone to start with.
