PUPPY STOLEN FROM HOME IN BROAD DAY LIGHT

FREDRICKSBURG, VA – Wetley, a five month old red and white dachshund puppy, was stolen from his Fredricksburg home during the afternoon of January 21st.

Yolanda McIntyre returned home from work expecting her dogs would be safe and sleeping in their kennels only to find that her home was broken into. Wetley was missing and another of her dogs, Elsa, received injuries to her face and has a limp.

Prior to the break in, a group of young men were seen in the neighborhood. It is believed that these young men were casing the home and observing Ms. McIntyre’s work schedule. Stafford County’s Sheriff has noted that this is one of a number of recent suspicious break-ins where the target seems to be attractive dogs. Any information that will help identify these young men will be appreciated.

Ms. McIntyre is frantic for the return of her beloved puppy. “We are offering a reward for his safe return” she said. “Wetley is a distinctive looking animal and is easy to identify. If anyone finds Wetley, or if the abductors wish to return him anonymously, his return can be arranged through the Stafford County Animal Shelter, Dachshund Rescue of North America or the local SPCA.”

Local rescue organizations have been notified and a picture of Wetley has been distributed. “This is heartbreaking to have this happen” said Jane Lance, Treasurer of Dachshund Rescue of North America. “Yolanda is an absolute angel for dogs. She is active in rescue of dachshunds, often taking in paralyzed and hard to place animals”.

Yolanda McIntyre has spent many years rescuing dachshunds. Presently she cares for 11 dachshunds, 2 of which are paralyzed. Over the years she has saved many dogs, now she is looking for your help to rescue hers.

*Yolanda is one of the sweetest rescuers I've ever met. I can't believe someone would do this to her. If any of you out there see someone with this dog, please alert the authorities. For those of you rolling your eyes at 11 dogs, this woman's sole purpose in life is to take care of the dogs. Her dachshunds live better than most people do. She only works to support her rescue efforts and take care of the puppers. No one should have this happen to them.
Keep an eye out for some dumb aZZ kid who suddenly has a dog for sale or has a new piebald dachshund.

Oh my gosh....that's just terrible! I hope she finds her dog. Since he is marked so uniquely, perhaps he'll turn up. Keep us posted.

Bunch of bastards. Someone stole our beagle many years ago but she found her way back. I wonder if the other dog was trying to attack them and that is why it was hurt. Poor babies.

I've met Yolanda, too!!! She runs the Disabled Dachshund Rescue!!! She helped me A LOT- when Schnitzel became paralyzed. I've never met anyone else like Yolanda!!!
Oh my gosh- I can't comprehend how some people can live with themselves!

That is super great news! Also in the good news department, the blood on the other dog, Elsa, was from her biting the attacker :yay:

I wonder if the lady found anything else missing besides her dogs?

Maybe the criminals who broke into her house just let the dogs loose and they ran away?...maybe as a distraction from the REAL crime.

She should definately check her central air vents and bathrooms for teeny tiny video cameras with wireless transmitters. Those crooks could make more money selling online video feeds to that than her mutts!

No, they wanted the dog. The stereo and some change was missing too. No offence to Yolanda, but I doubt anyone would want to see a live feed video of a 60+ year old lady, especially the teens that they caught with the dog.
