Dogs can sniff out ovarian cancer

My Grandmothers GSD was able to detect her breast cancer.

I'm going to try to be delicate here - you know I absolutely love dogs. I just don't get it. What doctor in his right mind is going to take the diagnosis of a dog? What benefit is this, really?

I'd like more detail - please forgive me - did your grandmother go to the doctor based on what the dog sniffed - and if so, how did she know what the dog detected?

Do I think it's awesome? Yep. Am I too blind to see the advantage of this? Yes, until such time as we can talk to dogs.

I do believe that animals sense something. We had a cat that never came near me - ever - until AFTER I had my gall bladder removed. For about a month, she insisted on sleeping at the head of my bed. Don't know what that was all about.

a dogs nose is WAY stronger and can pick up the scent that the cancer cells gives of WAY before it is detected by the dr.

think about it... its like the seizure alert dogs... HOW DO THE DOGS KNOW when their owner is going to have a seizure? Drs cant even predict when a person will have one.. and even the person cant predict them.
