dogs for the apt/condo life

i've had several different types of dogs, but they were always able to have a full yard to run and play in... but now that i'm on my own, i plan to get a condo fairly soon.. i've owned a pom in my college apt and he was quite happy..

but i miss having a boxer.. they're my favorite and most loving dogs i know..

just a bit concerned about having one in a condo, though it is a fairly open 1200sq ft condo, it is nothing compared to a yard..

i've read plenty of testimonials on people with boxers in apts from googling but was hoping to get some more input

i also know that they love to exercise and taking them out everyday is no problem for me since i've always been fairly good at house training my dogs and am use to it since my pom loved to run around as well

other dogs i am considering:
pug
pomeranian (though i was lucky with a quieter one, my parents have 2 that won't shush up)

i've never had a problem with my boxers being quiet back at my old house

i even thought about golden retrievers, but unlike these 3, i've never had one and so i can't talk from experience about their living habits

I love my pug. He is not too small but not huge. He doesn't bark a lot, but he will let me know when there is someone at the door or a car pulled up.

i love pugs too! i had one when i was younger and he was so smart and actually was naturally house trained! he would scratch the door anytime he had to go, but noone ever taught him, and we got him as a puppy too! i hope i get lucky like that again :) my fiancee really wants a pug, but i miss my boxers so much she finally agreed... though my logical side has concerns for the boxer's happiness in a condo

Greyhounds make good apartment dogs, since they love to sleep all day. They're fine going on a few potty walks a day and going for a run (maybe at a dog park) every now and then.
