Dogs needing temporary housing

Hi all,

I got a call about this and was just wondering if anyone could help, knew anyone who could help, or knew anyone connected with a kennel who would be willing to let her use a run for a short time period at a discounted rate. She really loves her dogs, one is a 4 year old lab mix and one is a 7 year old dalmation/great dane mix, and is heartbroken over the prospect of having to loose them. She went through a bad situation and is trying to get on her feet on her own. Thanks.

I am desperately looking for a temporary home for my dogs. I cannot find room in shelters and do not want to give them up permanently. They are older and have been with me for so long. I need some time to save for a place where I can have them. I'm hoping no more than a few months. If there is anyone who can help me I would be so grateful, and so would my dogs. I don't want to have to turn them into the shelter...everyone always wants the little dogs or puppies....they are housetrained and utd on all shots. Please help me if you can. I would provide all food and crates, etc. I'm even willing to pay each week if necessary.

Ugh...this is how I ended up with Buster..

Good luck, has she talked to all the rescues, etc? Maybe if they knew she would be "paying" somebody would be willing to foster them. I just can't take another adult dog into my home.

Someone from Interlude kennels on St Andrews has posted on here recently, I wonder if they would be able to help somehow. It would be a shame for someone desperately trying to keep their animals to have to give them up to the shelter. I hope things have worked out for her....

Good Morning, Yeah, I was hoping maybe someone who had an "in" at a kennel would be able to make something happen or at least be willing to consider a discounted rate. She said she would be able to pay about $75.00 a week. Maybe each area kennel could offer a couple of weeks, either donated or discounted. Also, she is looking for a place that she can rent as a roommate that will allow her to bring her dogs. Not sure what her monthly rent limit is. I did talk to one kennel and they would like to help and will be talking to the owner today. Hopefully I'll hear some good news today.

Update:She has had to bring one dog to the shelter, the 4 year old lab mix and the people she is staying with have only given her 1-2 days to find someplace for her other dog. We hope to be able to rescue her dog from the shelter and reunite them as her older dog is grieving the loss of his companion. :bawl:
