Anyone know why they tore it down and what they are building there? It was nice to have as an option for party supplies.

If you are talking about the one in Smallwood Village, my guess is that they closed it down due to thefts. That store was often in the news for catching shoplifters, and this was probably the tip of the iceberg. It was located across the street from a subsidized housing apartment complex (Gallery Place/Huntington Apartments) if it is the one I am thinking of.

it was near the Giant on 301 / across from burlington - there was also a melwood thrift store or something there that was tore down with it.

I believe the Dollar King was over by Longhorn Steakhouse, right off of 301 between St Patricks Dr and Berry Rd.

Oh, yes...I think the one I was thinking of was the Dollar General or another dollar store. The Dollar King you mentioned was rather nice. It was in the same parking lot as a Chinese/seafood buffet and a gym. Some may remember a Golden Corral in the parking lot and a K-mart on the other side of Plaza Way until about 10 years ago.

WR Blair was there also.

They tore it down due to a new shopping center / strip mall going in.
I myself was rather disappointed to learn it closed. I loved the option of cheap party supplies as opposed to the very expensive party supply store behind the Old Country Buffet...

There was no Golden Corral in that shopping center, it was Western Steer.

There's a MOM (My Organic Market) going in and a swim club ... two other things too but I don't remember them off of the top of my head. Oh, and yes, I said a swim club.
