Donating a Car

I have a vehicle that I need to get rid of. It runs, but is not dependable, and I just don’t need it anymore.

Does anyone have any experience donating a vehicle to one of the charities that takes them? Which one would you recommend?

I donated my wife's 2004 Nissan Pathfinder with a bad transmission through the American Legion program. It was pretty simple. You have to be happy with the value you receive for your donation though. My wife thought it was worth more than it got at auction.

I recommend the Arc Southern Maryland.
They have a broker that handles it all and the car is sold and they get the cash that then goes towards the various programs for the Individuals that they support.
