On a 54-43 vote, proponents lost an effort to advance a House-passed bill that would lift the pay floor from $5.15 to $7.25 an hour without any accompanying tax cut. Opponents of the tax cut needed 60 votes to prevail.

I guess the Democrats aren't all drinking Pelosi's Kool Aid..

First question, no the Democrats do not have a majority in the Senate. With Tim Johnson still hospitalized, and Joe Lieberman is more of a Republican than he is a Democrat.

Other than gay marriage and the Iraq war Lieberman is in lockstep with liberals on nearly every other issue.

I think they should reduce minimum wage by 50%. That'll get the fry guy off his azz and get him to do something meaningful with his life.
