I wanted to hate it.
I really did. I heard so much bad stuff about it, that I thought it was going to suck the ass-end out of a horse.
I'm sorry - but that movie ROCKED.
It was not sophisticated. It was not profound. There was no characterization to speak of. There was no compelling plot. There will be no awards. It was completely mindless entertainment.
But, sometimes I like mindless entertainment.
And maybe I liked it so much because I had such low expectations.
I dunno. But I liked it. I liked it a lot - I liked the blood. I liked the guts, I liked the profanity, and I liked the zombies.
I even liked the five minute First-Person Vignette of blood, gore, viscera, chainsaws, grenades and death. Any movie where you're looking through the eyes of a person five feet away from a 9' tall Baron of Hell that explodes into viscous goo automatically gets
It had the same kind of feel to the Doom 3 game.
Two complaints: There was no foray into Hell proper, and so a lot of monsters from the game were left out - and there was no "People's Eyebrow".
