The Homicide Unit is investigating a double fatal shooting in Landover late Friday night. The victims are 65-year-old Hannah Woods of Seat Pleasant and 24-year-old Nijah Johnson of Upper Marlboro.
On July 30, 2021, at approximately 10:50 pm, officers responded to the 1900 block of Village Green Drive for a shooting. Officers located a total of three victims outside suffering from gunshot wounds. Woods was pronounced dead on the scene. Johnson died a short time later at a hospital. The third victim, an adult female, suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victims were outside on Village Green Drive and were shot by suspect(s) who were in a car. The suspect(s) then sped away from the area.
Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.
