All I'm saying is, if you like that track and you want it to remain on the schedule past 2012, you better order tickets and show up.

In other words your implying that unless attendance increases for the Dover International Speedway , Nascar is going to shut them down !

No, I'm saying if attendance doesn't improve, there will be no reason for anyone to invest in keeping the track open WHEN Dover Motorsports goes under. Same difference though.

Maybe Nascar will shift those dates back to ROCKINGHAM. Great for me !:yahoo:

The fans won't show up to Rockingham next year for the Truck race. Why would NASCAR put a Cup race there.

(And I will have a holy kirk out if they don't show up to the Truck race)

From what I see on ESPN, there are a lot of open seats . If they are purchased seats , thats a different story.

The last few years I've seen a lot of empty seats there, but today was the worst.

Even the people that sit in front of us for the last 14 years were not there today. I'm hoping that the weather had something to do with many not attending today, but who knows.

I got my renewal for next year and we'll be going again in '12.

I think the weather and the Baltimore race last month hurt Dover.

That said, so many fans say they love Dover and it's their favorite track, they better show up next year or that track will go the way of Rockingham (granted they have a race next year), North Wilkesboro, Mansfield and the other Dover Motorsports owned tracks (Nashville, Gateway, Memphis).

:yahoo: to both of those possiblities

So I got a phone call today from Dover Speedway asking if I'd like to go ahead and renew my tickets now to take advantage of the new lower ticket prices - even though I have until December 1 to do so. Our seats were $95.00 now they're $75.00.

They must be really desperate for ticket sales. :(

I wouldn't go there if they paid me. Yes I like the track but I'll be damned if I'm going to sit in the parking lot for 5 hours watching drunks puke every where. Here's the deal with Dover, you add 20k more parking spots and 5 more access roads to get out. Get some troopers to direct traffic and control the drunks and I'll think about it. Until then, I hope you lose all of your races.

You don't HAVE to park at the track. We park across the street and walk. It takes us no time at all to get to 301.
