Dowd: If GOP Wins Senate, House Majority in Midterms It’s ‘Goodbye Democracy’

Former chief strategist for the Bush-Cheney 2004 presidential campaign Matthew Dowd said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that if Republicans won the majority in the U.S. House and Senate, it would be the end of democracy.

Dowd said, “It’s like Frankenstein made a monster, and the monster woke up and is now destroying the village and lost control of it, and that’s the way it is. Eric Greitens is a perfect example.

He added, “The first thing the Democratic Party has to do we’re in a different time and old plans about talking about 22 different policies and what’s their plan on x, y and z — they ought to throw it out. We’re not in the normal time. They have to realize that a culture war and a war for America has been launched, and it’s launched for 10 or 15 years, and the Democrats think they’ll organize the kitchen at the barracks while the war is going on. Democrats have to step up and believe and talk like this. This is a war for the soul and heart of America.”

Stating that everything is "an end to democracy" should be an automatic 90 day stay in Bellevue from here on.

Also, this shows perfectly that the establishment GOP is firmly in bed with the $#!tbag Democrats through and through.

"This is a war for the soul and heart of America". First off, the libs don't have hearts or souls.

Secondly, the bottom line for this clown? -
The sky is falling! The sky is falling!!

Damned glad to meet you
30 years ago when Pat Buchanan was a regular guest on "The McLaughlin Group" he said the Culture Wars were coming and it would be a battle for the soul of our country. Everyone laughed then, but it's reality now.

I'd like to shake this Dowd turd until the 💩 runs out his head and he realizes that America is not a democracy, it is a democratic republic. America was never meant to be a democracy because a true democracy is nothing more than a fancy name for mob rule.

She's partly right.

It's goodbye Democrats.

The Democrats don't believe one whit about democracy. The LAST thing they want is for the people to decide the issues of the day; their continual cry is always how bad America IS, and how so many Americans are bad - the worst thing that could happen to them is the people deciding things like abortion or immigration.

They believe that they, the elite - know BETTER for what's good for America.

It should have come as no surprise that there would be COUNTLESS stories of Democratic leadership flouting COVID rules they so vigorously enforced and prosecuted.

Let me put it THIS way - if YOU sincerely believed that COVID was an extremely deadly disease - would you hold parties with maskless persons totally ignoring "social distancing"? If you sincerely believed that climate change was destroying the world, wouldn't you humbly and drastically reduce your OWN carbon footprint - set the example, for green living? If they believed the rich need to pay their fair share - why don't THEY do it, even as just a show of good faith?

They DON'T believe it - not a bit. But they DO know that pushing another COVID lockdown will give them carte blanche to change election rules this November. WATCH for it. COVID will help them. They don't believe any of the racist crap they spew, or they'd do more than toss bones. They don't believe in gun contol, or they'd get rid of their own private security and take down the walls.

They won't pass anything meaningful THIS YEAR. They can't. They have until the end of July - they will take their whole month off - and they will spend the next two months trying to get elected or re-elected. They COULD find a solution that will WORK and may require compromise - but they want their base to vote for them. So they won't.

In short, they are not interested in democracy. They are not interested in serving the people, or they'd be willing to lose their jobs to get it done.

Why would anyone go on the Joy Reid show?

Now what kind of Democracy do we have now, when an old man decides to destroy the economy by cutting off the energy of America for his pie in the sky Windmills.
