The first time I saw Dr. Phil on TV, I thought he was the actor who played Hank Kingsley on the Larry Sanders Show. I was confused when he was talking about self-improvement and weight loss instead of comedy.

In recent years, Jeffrey has shaved his mustache, so the resemblance is less obvious. He was in the Grinch movie and Under the Tuscan Sun.

Right after Dr. Phil got his TV show, he had Jeffrey Tambor on as a guest. He said it was to prove they were different people.
