Just got a referral for kiddo to see Pradeep Simlote (an allergist) in California. Anybody been there? Good & bad reports? I have the option to change to another allergist, so I thought I'd check around first.

Took my son to him. He had a good bedside manner with a 4 YO. I'd go back if we needed to.

I go to Simlote. I think that he's a good doctor. I see him in his Waldorf office on Tuesdays. He rotates around different offices in the tri-county area, so if you have a pressing issue he may be a little hard to get a hold of. His staff is nice and friendly. If I need a prescription refill, he will call it into the pharmacy for me.

Good Luck!

He has been my Allergist for over two years now. AWESOME Doctor. No complaints. He is very thorough and caring.

Just like any other doctor.....appointments seem to be double-scheduled so don't be in a hurry.

ok. See, I thought that it has been simlote that I went to but then I was confused when she mentioned california (because I always went to the bean building...does he still or did he ever have an office there? If so then thats who I had). I at least had him for a little while, but if he is in the bean building then I had him for a good bit of time.

he was good from what I recall...but he is also Indian (go figure) so it is a PITA to understand him...but what do you expect in the medical field today right?

I think that he used to be in the Bean building, but the last time that I was down in California, I noticed a Simlote sign on a property, on the north-bound side of 235. I don't remember exactly where...

Thanks everybody for your comments. He seems like a good doc so far. My one concern was the possible language accent. I had a doc once that I had a hard time understanding and missed some key points she was telling me because of this. Guess I'll just give him a try and hope for the best. :howdy:

He was T's allergiest but when we saw him it was 4 years ago and in Hollywood. He was a nice guy, talked to T (then 4 & 5 y/o) as well as me.

He is VERY VERY easy to understand...NO problem there..and very very willing to talk to you...I really like him..and he did not try to talk me into quitting my job (grooming) or giving up my house pets even though I was allergic to them..

I have no experience with Dr. Simlote, but I thought I would throw out another option since you mentioned being concerned with the language problem. Both of my kids (now 9 and 7) go to Dr. Fears, who has an office in Solomons. I don't know where you are, if that is too far for you, but he is awesome. My son has been going to him since he was 18 months old and I wouldn't switch for the world. He has a very dry sense of humor and makes sure he connects with the kids each visit. Good luck with whoever you decide to go with!

I know of 2 people who went to him and their kids skin tested for over 12 things EACH! Went to Hopkins for more intensive testing and they came back ALL negative. Even had them done 2x at Hopkins. I am going through testing with my middle child now and am just going straight to Hopkins for all the testing!
