Driving in DC

Happy Camper!
not sure if this is a repeat or if it's even true but got this in an email today

Effective July 16, 2005, District of Columbia police officers will begin issuing $300.00 fines for drivers who cannot provide proof of insurance when stopped. An individual pulled over by District police officers must be able to provide license, registration and a current insurance card or a citation will be issued.

You know, as much driving as I do in DC, I rarely see the police pull anyone over.

:yeahthat: They're too busy driving with no seat belts and yapping on their cell phones.

I get pulled over frequently by them, don't know why... :cussing: Its usually in S.E. or something, they'll block a lane checking everyone's tags, seatbelt, insurance, etc.... luckily I've always passed inspection. But nonetheless its always good to know if I get shot from another car during a crack- related "driveby" they do indeed have car insurance and were wearing their seatbelt at the time .. :lmao:

That, and they don't require their cab drivers to know where they're going.

That's because they allow their automated systems to take pictures of cars and mail speeding tickets. :tantrum

Are you into pain RR? :eek:uch:
Nope; therefore I do not drive in DC.

At least not by choice, anyway. And Baltimore is just as bad, for different reasons.

Unfortunately I'm the duty driver for my mother (Cardiac Patient at GWU and sometimes Johns-Hopkins when she goes) and my wife (neurology patient at Johns-Hopkins when she goes).

Time for a nap
Dear WW Bridge passengers in the bypass,

Whatever you do, DO NOT stop in Old Town to hang out durring the traffic jam. We have enough tourists as it is.

Thank you,
CityGrl
