The homeowner said he was awakened about 2 a.m. by a barking dog. As he was checking the house, he discovered the woman holding a hammer and trying to get through the pet door, Kruse said.
The man opened his back door and confronted the woman, who asked for her hammer back, Kruse said. She had dropped it inside the house.

What they did not report - is her excuse for why she had the hammer with her, and how it got into the guys' house!
