Anyone using Duel-Fuel or Single-Fuel (Portable) Propane generator?
For my vacation home, I’m trying to decide on“propane portable” for times of power outages. I already have a 100 gallon LP tank attached to the house, thus the propane choice. Also, I would not have to store gasoline. I can add another spigot from the existing LP tank or add another tank to feed the generator only. The load would include a refrigerator, some lights and a grinder/lift pump. For the winter months, I would want the option to add a couple of electric baseboard heaters if necessary. I think between 8,500-10,000 watts should be sufficient. I would install a 12-16 circuit manual transfer switch with a through-the-wall inlet box to safely connect the generator when needed.
Now, can I do this for under $1,500?
BTW, the water supply is a municipal community well, with diesel generator backup.
