At 12:15 p.m. on March 4, the BB&T Bank located at 10264 Southern Maryland Boulevard in Dunkirk was robbed.
The robber, described as a black male, handed a teller a note requesting money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. No one was injured.

Calvert County Sheriff's along with the Calvert Investigative Team are on the scene of a bank robbery at the BB&T Bank in Dunkirk located at 10264 Southern Maryland Blvd.
A suspect entered the bank around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 4. The suspect has fled on foot and remains at large.
No word on a lookout at this time. A perimeter has been set up in the area and officers continue to monitor traffic in the Dunkirk area.
As a result of the bank robbery, Calvert County Public Schools have placed Northern Middle, Northern High, Mt. Harmony Elementary, Huntingtown High and Sunderland Elementary Schools on heightened alert.
