But wait, there's more...
This pizzes me off! Even though I don't live in Durham ... the principle of it grinds my azz.
Durham Public Schools will receive almost $150,000 from the state for two programs aimed at preventing students from dropping out of school.
The grant, approved by the general assembly, will help launch a new evening program at Southern High School, according to a school system news release today. And it will provide scholarships for 50 students to attend a summer program, Restoration Institute for Leaders.
Instead of focusing on the people who don't care to succeed, how about focusing on the one's that do? The old "can't help those who won't help themselves" theory. :lightbulb:
Which do you think money should be spent on? (wait for the poll)
