They call me ... Sarcasmo
After action report:
The whole family (my side) was finally able to coordinate schedules and have a weekend get together in Lancaster this past weekend. My mom and dad really like it up there and have been telling us for a while that we need to bring our boys up along with my brother's family and hit DW.
All of us had a good time despite the day long rain we endured. This park is geared for the younger crowd, 12 and under is their target demo and they have it locked in. The most exciting ride would be the Kingdom Coaster which seems like a 1/4 scale Rebel Yell or the same as the old Scooby Doo coaster @ KD. The park is only 40 acres and has plenty of trees to shade you as you move along. Duke's Lagoon Waterpark is a "must" destination on the warmer days for sure. The kids ages of our group ranged from 20 months up to 8 years and they have rides and shows that appealed to all of them.
We got a package deal at the Continental Inn that included 2 adult admissions to the park, 2 nights lodging 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner. The hotel was THE BOMB ... about 30 years ago, BUT it was clean and had a TON of amenities. Let's see, outdoor pool, indoor pool and zero entry kiddie pool. Shuffleboard, lighted basketball and tennis courts along with volleyball and badminton courts. There is a full service restaurant (good food, excellent hearty breakfast) bar and game rooms on the premises also.
Plenty of shopping, (Tanger Outlets across the street) and loads of other dining and entertainment options. I would definitely make this trip again as long as the rain can stay at bay.
