Can anyone think of a good reason why someone in Malasia would offer $80.00 over the Buy it now price, instead of just clicking the button they sent an email saying they wanted the paypal info? Can't think of how it's going to happen, but I smell a scam of some kind.

Because paypal always sides with the buyer, the buyer only has to put in a claim and they will win the dispute and get their money back.

What they will tell you to do is use the extra for shipping and send them the extra back, so they get the extra back and their original amount back, plus the free item.

only thing I can think of is that he/she is doing the currency exchange. However, the price they would see is in dollars. You may want to call ebay and verify

^^ he's right!

I sold thousands of dollars worth of stuff last year on ebay and the forums there have many stories just like this.

I was very nervous when a buyer with zero history purchased a camera of mine for what seemed like an insane amount of money.... but I never heard anything back about it... just that the customer was very happy in my review. I also encountered a buy who bid on a ring I had, again it was for a good amount of money, and never paid me. Finally I had to file something with ebay, wait the amount of time and re-list it which I did getting the same amount for it but this time getting paid and getting a good review. The woman made a habit of bidding, winning and never paying yet was never booted off and now I don't think you can even give a buyer a bad review or something now.
