Eczema

Was wondering if anyone dealt with eczema? I was just diagnosed with it and the doctor told me get over it their is nothing you can do about it. I am not going back to that doc anymore. If you know of any doc that actually is willing to help, please let me know. Thanks

Their really isn't. My niece has it and she's 2 and they have tried every cream and everything known and it doesn't work. What helped was replacing all the carpet with hardwood floors and keeping the house cool so she doesn't sweat and break out.

You just treat it. Get lotions that work and don't let your skin dry out - winters will be the bad. If you were a baby/toddler, I would say you then had the opportunity to outgrow it (some babies/toddlers get it and it goes away as they get older... like our little girl seems to be doing).

My brother has it and he doesn't have much in the way of it showing since he has been treating it always.

Dr. David Spott is a fantastic dermatologist. After having 8 years of lotions and potions from other dermatologists, he prescribed exactly what I needed. His address is 9131 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735. Phone number is (301) 868-7077. He is also very pleasant.

Salt water, sun and washing your skin with shampoos that are made for that type of skin disorder will help. It will never go away.

If you are one to try "holistic cures", Noni juice is something to try. It does not taste good, but it works. I've found it in GNC stores. My husband and I drink it (his eczema went away, but will come back if he doesn't drink it for a while), my son can't stand the taste, but it helps topically on poison ivy when he gets it. Just is a swiss company that sells creams and oils for various conditions, they had a Lavender cream and a Tea Tree cream that they recommend for eczema. ( www.JustSwissHerbal.com ) Good luck.

I have it and the prescription stuff the doctor gave me never really worked. I found that the more stressed out I am the worse it gets. Also, I stopped using commercially made soap, it really drys out your skin. Plus I have a tendency to have oily skin so I have to be careful on the types of lotions I use. I only use homemade, all natural soaps and lotions. The best for me is soap with either comfrey or calendula in it.
