I work in Suitland and there are 3 around there. I hadnt noticed the sign here in Waldorf!
The only one I knew of used to be in Forestville on Marlboro Pike but I was only 13 and I never tried their food. Then it closed down. I'll have to give this one a try when it opens. I haven't driven up to the sign to see when they plan to open but it shouldn't be too long since the previous business was a sub & pizza shop...

I remember one in Southeast when I was a real little girl. I thought they were long gone.
Yeah; that's why I started this thread. I've not heard about them since the early 70's and then one pops up right in my back yard. Gingerbreadgurl said there are 3 in Suitland. I guess they're soo good that they don't have to advertise

How long has that one been there? I worked (off & on) in Crystal City until 1996 and I didn't recall seeing it there. Can you describe the menu items? Is it more like Jerry subs or Subway or Wawa? I'll look online to see if they have their menu items there...

Sorry. I was talking about the Jimmy Johns that vraiblonde mentioned a few posts ago.

From the posters in the joint and the 2/3 star reviews on the Internet, it looks like the average Chinese/American carry outplace. I swear they all get there food from the same supplier.

The best carryout/sit down restaurant in Waldorf is Simply Good. All their food os made from scratch. I cant believe it had been there 2/3 years before I found it. Its where Cluck-U used to be...

I checked it out last week... "average Chinese/American carryout place" is correct. Will have to check out Simply Good.

Myself and one other person picked up meals at the newest location in Waldorf. I didn't like the desserts (peach cobbler and banana no pudding pudding) but the macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and sweet potatoes were very good. The cabbage had sat a wee too long as I do not like mine overcooked. The North Carolina pork BBQ was tasty but dry and very hot pepper spicy. My advice it if you are going to get it, ask for a sample. Then if you decide to order, use the vinegar (they gave us apple cider vinegar) to marinate it overnight. Unless you like instant vinegar unlike myself, enjoy. The NC PBBQ has no tomato sauce color and it is finely chopped versus pulled. As I said, it is seasoned well but dry upon taste.

Well, I'm only about a month late in trying the place out. I went there yesterday and I was surprised! You folks were right. It's run by Asians. A very nice young gal asked what I'd like and I said I'd like to try their steak & cheese sub. I didn't know how big it was, so I ordered the half sub. Folks, I have to say, it was one of the best tasting S&C subs I've had in years!

Goodes on route 5 at Post Office Road has the best I've ever tasted and this one was every bit as good. And it was huge! It was probably only 6 inches long but busting out with meat.

I'm not much for junk/fast food these days but if I ever get a craving for S&C again, it's Eddie Reonards............HEY! That's how she pronounced it...:roflmao:

I've been back 2 more times. I ordered orange chicken the next trip and I won't do that again. They did pack a LOT of in a dinner portion which was spread over 2 1/2 meals for me and they heaped loads of broccoli in it too. Sadly, the orange was just not right and the broccoli was overdone as is all their green veggies that sit for a good amount of time.

Next trip I ordered turkey wings, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese and greens with a yellow with chocolate icing huge slice of cake. I can pass on the cake and any greens they have as they let them sit entirely too long for my tastes. Nothing to complain about on the m & c nor the sweet potatoes.

After reading this thread again I went back last night and tried their "soul food".. Fried chicken was good but the collard greens looked and tasted like they had been sitting there for DAYS (yuck!) and the mac and cheese had no flavor at all.

My mentor went and she did not like the greens at all. She said they were just as I said, overcooked from sitting too long. So, I go back and order Egg Foo Y... yeah that egg patty thingy and gravy. Well the fried rice was greasy but very oniony which I really like. They put the gravy ON the egg patty which I am not used to. But overall, the taste was good and I could order it again. White rice next time.

I see they serve huge tea in those plastic containers you usually see cutlery in. Interesting.
