Top school psychologist promotes students leaving home in search of 'queer friendly' parents

Amy Cannava is the chair of the National Association Of School Psychologists’ LGBTQI2-S Committee, however she also works with Safe Space NOVA, a group that works to “combat social stigmas, bullying, and other challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth.”

In a discussion board hosted by the Pride Liberation Front, Cannava was cited as someone who could help struggling LGBTQ students leave their homes to find more supportive parents.

According to the Daily Wire, which obtained access to the discussion board, the PLP included a section labeled “Resources for Outed Students,” which urged those “facing familial rejection or need to leave their home for another reason” to contact Cannava “immediately,” noting that she works with Safe Space NOVA and “can provide you with much more information.”

Source: The Daily Wire

Those who wished to be “rehomed” could receive money from the PLP, as well as transportation to a “supportive, Queer friendly adult” after which they would be taken to a “kind and affirming home.”

Providence (RI) Whistleblower Teacher Ramona Bessinger Threatened At School By Student Protest Leader

Activists within and outside Classical High School are trying to get Bessinger fired and incite people against her, and now it has spilled over into a threat screamed at her from a student leader in school this morning, according to Bessinger: “F-you, F-you, I want to kill you.” She has filed a police report and notified the school.

Bessinger has previously notified the school administration of her concerns for her physical safety. This morning the situation worsened dramatically.

Bessinger says she was walking down a hallway-type area not far from her classroom when she heard shouting at her. It was not until she was closer, only about 10 feet away from a group of students, that she heard one of the student leaders of the protests screaming at her in front of other students that he would kill her: “**** you, **** you. I want to kill you.” He may have screamed other things as well before she realized he was screaming at her.

No other students were screaming at her. Bessinger says she had previously complained to the school about this student hanging around outside her classroom.

She has reported the incident to the school as well as filing a police report. According to what she was told by the police officer, the student is being charged with Disorderly Conduct. She does not know if the police will issue a restraining order. We will try to get a copy of that report from the Providence police.

NYU Fires Chemistry Professor After Students Launch Petition Claiming His Course is Too Hard

“Students said the high-stakes course — notorious for ending many a dream of medical school — was too hard, blaming Dr. Jones for their poor test scores.”

At N.Y.U., Students Were Failing Organic Chemistry. Who Was to Blame?
In the field of organic chemistry, Maitland Jones Jr. has a storied reputation. He taught the subject for decades, first at Princeton and then at New York University, and wrote an influential textbook. He received awards for his teaching, as well as recognition as one of N.Y.U.’s coolest professors.
But last spring, as the campus emerged from pandemic restrictions, 82 of his 350 students signed a petition against him.
Students said the high-stakes course — notorious for ending many a dream of medical school — was too hard, blaming Dr. Jones for their poor test scores.

The professor defended his standards. But just before the start of the fall semester, university deans terminated Dr. Jones’s contract.
The officials also had tried to placate the students by offering to review their grades and allowing them to withdraw from the class retroactively. The chemistry department’s chairman, Mark E. Tuckerman, said the unusual offer to withdraw was a “one-time exception granted to students by the dean of the college.”

Jones noted that many students were struggling before Covid but that the pandemic made things even worse.

“Students were misreading exam questions at an astonishing rate,” he wrote in a grievance to the university, protesting his termination. Grades fell even as he reduced the difficulty of his exams.
The problem was exacerbated by the pandemic, he said. “In the last two years, they fell off a cliff,” he wrote. “We now see single digit scores and even zeros.”
After several years of Covid learning loss, the students not only didn’t study, they didn’t seem to know how to study, Dr. Jones said.

Teacher put on leave after assignment about masturbation

James Logan High School teacher, Tom Mijares, has been placed on leave, pending an investigation, for posting an assignment that included an essay that graphically described 9-year-old girls watching a grown man masturbate until completion.

Libs of TikTok received a copy of the 10th grade assignment from an anonymous source.

Grammatically incorrect, the essay read:

“Our 9-year-old eyes followed hairy hippie butt cracked mildew showered stall [sic]. Lather from watered down No More Tears trickled down to the body parts we were much too young to pronounce [sic]. He loved to wash ‘down there,’ you know it. And he'd yank up his droopy it thing to soap up pink, furry private flesh.”

CA Dem Jacqui Irwin's Solution to Trans Females Competing in Women's Sports? Transition Them Earlier

A four-term California Assemblywoman, Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks), herself a former college athlete, had a horrifying answer to a voter’s question about whether it’s fair to allow transgender females (biological males) to compete in women’s collegiate and professional sports. That answer?

“I thought this out already. We start at age 8 or 9. By the time boys transfer into girls and teens at age 12 or 13, they have new friends. By the time they turn 17, 18, or 19, nobody knows their past.”

Instead of addressing the actual issue, and seemingly without regard for the fact that this transition includes genital mutilation, sterilization, and irreversible hormonal impacts, Irwin thinks it’s easy-peasy to handle this sticky “social justice” situation by simply mutilating boys at an even younger age, when they have no capacity to make a life-altering decision – and so by the time they’re in college, they can easily obfuscate their biological gender.

That is not a “solution.” That is extreme child abuse, and torture.

Assistant principals reportedly let four armed teens INTO locked school because police were outside

In a scene that would not have even made the final cut for “Idiocracy,” four masked teenagers with guns were allegedly given access to a high school by two of its administrators who believed it was unsafe for them to stay outside because – wait for it – there were police officers nearby.

On September 14, security officers at Garret Morgan High School in Cleveland, Ohio, spotted the four teens approaching the school and proceeded to call 911. During the call, multiple people could be heard yelling to keep the school locked down and prohibit the gang from entering.

“Do not let them, do not let anybody through that door, people,” one man can be heard saying in the call recording obtained by Fox8.

“Keep the school locked down,” the dispatcher instructed.

Online school put US kids behind. Some adults have regrets.

Preliminary test scores around the country confirm that the longer many students studied remotely, the less they learned. Some educators and parents are questioning decisions in cities from Boston to Chicago to Los Angeles to remain online long after clear evidence emerged that schools weren’t COVID-19 super-spreaders — and months after life-saving adult vaccines became widely available.

At Stanford, a conference to spread the free speech gospel

In a bit over a week Stanford University–or more properly the Stanford University School of Business in conjunction with the Hoover Institution–will hold a conference on promoting free speech in academia.

Predictably a bunch of Stanford professors are trying to cancel it, either literally or metaphorically, complaining that their voices will not be heard. Not that they weren’t invited to attend, of course, but rather that, having declined, they will not be just let in, presumably to protest and disrupt the conference. If they attended as invited guests they would be implicitly acknowledging that the ideas about which the conference is based upon are legitimate, and nothing Leftist dislike can be legitimized in any way.

The premise of the conference is laid out on the front page of their website:

Academic freedom, open inquiry, and freedom of speech are under threat as they have not been for decades. Visibly, academics are “canceled,” fired, or subject to lengthy disciplinary proceedings in response to academic writing or public engagement. Less visibly, funding agencies, university bureaucracies, hiring procedures, promotion committees, professional organizations, and journals censor some kinds of research or demand adherence to political causes. Many parts of universities have become politicized or have turned into ideological monocultures, excluding people, ideas, or kinds of work that challenge their orthodoxy. Younger researchers are afraid to speak and write and don’t investigate promising ideas that they fear will endanger their careers.
The two-day Academic Freedom Conference, arranged by the organizing committee, aims to identify ways to restore academic freedom, open inquiry, and freedom of speech and expression on campus and in the larger culture and restore the open debate required for new knowledge to flourish. The conference will focus on the organizational structures leading to censorship and stifling debate and how to repair them.

It is indeed true that the conference attendance has been limited to invited guests, but the reason for that is obvious: dissenters from the prevailing Narrative™ are unwelcome on college campuses. They are harassed, yelled at, shouted down, and occasionally worse. Comedians rarely visit campuses any more because they are dominated by a political monoculture where any deviation from accepted speech is unacceptable–which of course precludes comedy.

[clip]

Critics of the conference are rude, snide, deceptive, and pretty much prove the point that it is impossible to engage in debate on campuses. They attack straw men, not arguments, and for all I can tell are impossible to reason with:

There’s mounting faculty opposition to an invitation-only, no-media-allowed academic freedom conference scheduled for next week at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. The conference, headlined by libertarian tech billionaire Peter Thiel and organized by the business school’s Classical Liberalism Initiative, has been criticized as pre-emptively limiting dissent in the name of open discourse.
Critics also fault the conference for platforming such speakers as Amy Wax, Robert Mundheim Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania, who is known for making racist remarks—including to and about students. [If she had actually made racist remarks instead of said controversial things about race she would have been fired. She is a dissenter, not a bigot.–DS]
“While we respect the rights of free speech and academic freedom, both are meant to encourage debate and discussion that can test those assertions,” more than 30 Stanford professors from a variety of fields said in a statement asking Stanford to distance itself from the conference. “The organizers have in fact gone out of their way to create a hermetically-sealed event, safe from any and all meaningful debate, filled with self-affirmation and self-congratulation, an event where racism is given shelter and immunity.”
A conference on academic freedom “would indeed be a timely and urgent one, given today’s context where we find the passage of laws (e.g. in Florida) banning faculty from teaching about selected issues, the banning of books from public libraries, the banning of even particular forms of language, and the harassment of scholars working in certain fields of study, like Michael Mann working on climate change, or Jo Boaler on working on math curricula,” the faculty statement also says. “But the organizers of this conference have something else in mind.”

It is rich that a group of Left-wing professors complain of harassment of scholars, given that is 1) exactly what they are doing here; and 2) holding up Michael Mann, one of the most celebrated scholars on the Left, who often attacks anybody who disagrees with him rather viciously. Mann is also a fabulist. As for racism, that is the foundation of both academic practice these days (entry into schools is often based upon race) and of the curriculum, which is filled with critical race theory and denigration of anybody who might come from a background tainted with the blood of oppressors.

The Left is committed to censorship of dissent, and will often openly celebrate it as fighting “disinformation.” That is what the attendees of the conference are trying to address. The fact that the immediate reaction is to try to shut it down is proof of their point.

Why Are Virginia Students Studying Sexuality, Body Size, And Privilege In Spanish Class?

What the teens got instead of a normal tutorial in Spanish was a surprise lesson on “Identidad,” or “Identity,” with students handed a two-page worksheet created by the University of Michigan’s Program on Intergroup Relations. It included a list of “Social Identity Groups,” not teaching the students about Spanish-language communities, but probing personal, intrusive, and even shaming questions right off a Buzzword Bingo card in identity politics, and asking them to pen their self-identities into a “Social Identity Wheel.”

asra1-768x1024.jpg

For these teens as young as 14, they faced the task — in the early morning class of Spanish II on Thursday, Oct. 13 — of identifying their “Social Identity Groups,” including their “Sexual Orientation,” with this wide array of confusing choices: “Lesbian,” “Gay,” “Bisexual,” “Heterosexual,” “Pan-Attractional,” “Attractionality” and, in case those didn’t cover it, “Questioning.”

For their “sex,” these young students had “intersex” among their choices, along with female and male.

For gender, they had “Woman, Man, Transgender, Post-Gender.”

asra2-768x1024.jpg

Despite body image being such an issue, especially among teen girls, the students were offered a “social identity group” of “Body Size/ Type,” with “Fat,” “Person of Size,” and “Thin” as examples. One irked Langley mother said, “Really? With all of the body-shaming that girls already feel?”

In the Langley High School community, many parents settled in the nation’s capital to affect U.S. and global policy in high-level posts from the White House, Congress, Defense Department, and even the CIA. These parents work at law firms, media companies, and government contractors, but, like youth everywhere, their children experience the same, complicated lives of teens, with depression, anxiety, and growing pains.

In the oversimplification of societal dynamics that activists have increasingly imposed on children, the Spanish II students also had the task of identifying their “Social Class,” with choices including “Poor,” “Working Class,” “Lower-Middle Class,” “Upper-Middle Class,” “Owning Class,” and “Ruling Class,” another judgment on the young people.

School Official Removes Student’s American Flag Despite Pride Flag Displays Across Campus

School officials at Trinity College in Connecticut removed two patriotic flags hanging from a student’s dorm room while seemingly allowing other students to hang Pride flags, according to viral video footage posted to TikTok.

Two students hung a “Don’t Tread On Me” flag and an American flag with a blue, red, and green line representing law enforcement, firefighters, and federal agents. Under the supervision of the self-described Director of Housing Operations, an alleged school administrator removed the flags from the dorm. Students protested the removal of the flags, according to a video of the interaction.

Family Sues Elite Boarding School After Son Struggling Post-COVID Kills Himself In ‘Solitary Confinement’

An Italian family filed a lawsuit Friday against elite New York boarding school EF Academy after 17-year-old Claudio Mandia hanged himself while in what the suit describes as “solitary confinement.”

The boy was expelled from the pricey school after cheating on a math assignment. He was then forced to wait in a room alone until his parents could retrieve him from the school, and food was brought to him, the suit claims, according to the New York Post. The family says Mandia was vulnerable at the time, after falling behind due to COVID-related issues as well as other factors, and was “falsely imprisoned” by the academy. He was found hanged on February 17, 2022.

“It was painfully foreseeable that forcing [Claudio] into solitary confinement, malnourishing him, and inadequately supervising him after delivering the life-altering news that he would be expelled – all while he was enduring other hardships that EF Academy knew about and was treating him for – could result in his tragic death,” says the suit, filed in Westchester County Supreme Court.

University social justice math workshop violates Maryland state code, GOP candidate alleges

A university workshop training math teachers how to incorporate LGBTQ+ ideology through mathematics violates the Code of Maryland Regulations, alleges the state's Republican candidate for lieutenant governor.

The Math4SocialJustice (Math4SJ) workshop is a "professional learning workshop that prepares participating teachers to engage their students in social justice issues through four student-centered lessons that focus on topics including politics, identity, and community," announces a flyer from Towson University's Center for STEM Excellence. "Over the course of five sessions, participants will engage in these lessons as learners, share ideas with colleagues, and reflect on their own learning. Participants will leave the workshop with increased confidence in incorporating social justice issues into their classroom curriculum."

The workshop is available to 6th-9th grade math teachers in Maryland, and participants receive a $150 stipend, according to the Math4Justice Flyer.

Teacher arrested for sexually assaulting student, who says it happened 'every day'

An elementary school student at Clark County School District told the Las Vegas Metro police that Richardson Walker would pull her into the bathroom and has touched her every day since the first day of school in August, according to KLAS News. Walker has been charged with first-degree kidnapping of a minor and with two counts of sexual assault of a minor.

Police began investigating Walker on Oct. 26 after the child allegedly told her mother that Walker would take her out of classes to bring her into the bathroom and touch her, KLAS News reported. The student said another student in the class had also been taken to the bathroom and touched by Walker.

University Makes All Graduates Pass a DEI Course, Claims Students Asked to Be Forced

What happens if a college graduate wanders into the world without having learned about diversity, equity and inclusion? At Illinois State University, they no longer want to find out.

Therefore, the school will now require all students to pass a DEI course in order to qualify for graduation.

As reported by WGLT (NPR from Illinois State), more than one class will be on offer. The choices comprise ISU’s “IDEAS” mandate — that’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access in U.S. Society.

[clip]

Illinois State University is joining a majority of schools: Per the Education Encyclopedia on Multiculturalism in Higher Education, 63% of colleges either have a diversity mandate in place or are developing one.

Roxio says the new requirement will help graduates “put [themselves] in [different peoples’] shoes and come to a better understanding.”

As for students requesting the requirement, it seems the interested parties would simply take such courses without asking to be forced.

Then again, the current college crop doesn’t appear as attracted to options as previous generations:

Michigan school board appoints 'unhinged' 23-year-old LGBTQ+ trustee who self-describes as having 'several mental illnesses'

Dryden Community School Board in Michigan just appointed their youngest-ever trustee, Carl Austin Miller Grondin, at age 23 and parents are outraged over his disturbing online presence. Parents aren’t upset about his age, but rather over his antics. Active on TikTok and Instagram, Grondin describes himself as “chaotic evil” and “unhinged” while posting pictures and videos filled with, offensive language and sexually inappropriate attire.

In a recent article about the appointment, Grondin said, “I want to be the person I never saw growing up in Dryden as the only openly LGBT kid… A ton of the administrators like (Dryden Junior/Senior High School principal and district superintendent) Mary Finnigan were constantly encouraging me and were great, but my experience would have been even better if I saw someone like me to look up to.”

So this is the person who kids are supposed to look up to…?

But it gets worse... Let’s take a look at some of his TikToks. In this one, Grodin describes his urge to label any inconvenience to him as “homophobic”:

We are all aware of the severe societal punishment associated with being labeled as “homophobic.” People who have been accused of the sentiment have not only suffered damage to their reputation but are ousted from their communities and have even lost their livelihoods. With his 104.7 thousand TikTok followers, Grodin promotes invoking the label whenever mildly inconvenienced. Just look at the comments section from this video post.

He is already encouraging kids on TikTok to use branding people with homophobia as a manipulation tactic. School-aged children should not have an opportunity to be exposed to this type of “influence”. To make the situation even more unsettling, Grodin posted another TikTok where he describes himself as having “several mental illnesses”:

Conservative Ousts Loudoun County School Board Member

“I’m the only mother running for school board in the Broad Run District, and the only candidate who has made parents’ rights a pillar of my platform,” she said in an August Twitter post.

While the Loudoun County School Board remains in left-wing control, Polifko will be able to give parents an inside look at what the board is considering and raise concern in light of potential impropriety.

The school board is currently under a grand jury investigation, instigated by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares (R), regarding the rape coverup that made national news.

While the board sued in an attempt to shut down the investigation after initially promising to comply with the inquiry, a judge denied the request.

Judicial Smackdown! Owasso School Can't Ban Dad for Being Critical of Elected Officials Who Gave Explicit Book to His Kid

Much like Heil supposed, it’s clear that the board just used the incident as an excuse to keep his ban in place since they lost on the first action in court on November 2. The judge was not amused by the attempt by Owasso employees and school board members to chill the first amendment rights of a concerned father and go around Heil’s first ruling to keep him banned by any means.

This Court is not convinced that Plaintiff’s conduct here could be classified as interfering with the “daily operation” of the school system, as the conduct occurred on a single occasion, in a parking lot, after school hours, and outside of any school related activity. And, likewise, this Court cannot be convinced that the First Amendment is not a basic constitutional value which would be directly and sharply implicated by the ban.

Judge Heil made fools out of the government agents who claimed that Reiland was a threat to anyone.

Plaintiff here made a statement to a reporter following a Board meeting on a single occasion. The evidence before the Court does not show a “continuing pattern of verbal abuse or threatening behavior” toward a school official, or otherwise.

The judge also pointed out that the school’s “parking lot defense” was poorly constructed.

Defendants concede that the Board meeting falls into the “limited public forum” category, but argue that the parking lot after the meeting falls into the “nonpublic forum” category.

New School Board Members Immediately Ban Critical Race Theory In First Meeting After Election

On Tuesday, the Berkeley County School Board in South Carolina passed a resolution 6-2 that prohibits CRT from being taught in the classroom and voted 8-0 to form a committee to review books that have been flagged for sexually explicit content. The board also voted 6-3 to fire the school district’s superintendent Deon Jackson and the district’s lawyer Tiffany Richardson.

“In the community many people know that these candidates support parental rights, but not only that, they support transparency,” Christi Dixon, the chair of the Berkeley County Moms for Liberty chapter, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “They want to make sure schools are safe. They want to make sure that financially [the school] is responsible with all the funding. They also want to make sure that our teachers get the support and all their needs are met in the classroom.”
