LEONARDTOWN, MD – St. Mary’s County Public Schools will be conducting an Educational Equity Needs Assessment during the next several weeks. Insight Education Group from Encino, California will be conducting the Needs Assessment. The Needs Assessment will include surveys, virtual focus groups, and a document review of policies, regulations, and practices.

Soon, parents and secondary students will be receiving an electronic survey that will ask them a brief series of questions. The intent of the survey is to gather input directly from families of our students about their experiences and perspectives.

Virtual focus groups will be conducted with parents and students. These focus groups will span all geographic areas and school zones in the county and will provide input opportunities for elementary, middle, and high school families. In addition, focus groups will be conducted with stakeholder groups. Every effort is being made to secure a cross section of stakeholder representation to ensure that all voices are heard. Stakeholder groups will receive an invitation to participate in the coming weeks.

St. Mary’s County Public Schools is committed to addressing equity in our schools and specifically listening to the valuable insights of our families and stakeholders.

For more information, please contact Ms. Adrianne Dillahunt, Education Equity Assurance Coordinator, at 301-475-5511, ext. 32131 or by email at amdillahunt@smcps.org.

Equality- everyone is equal at the start...some excel to be great at the end.
Equity- everyone ends up the same at the end...and that's to be on equal footing with the weakest link, NOT to elevate them to Alpha status....

Why are we allowing this program to even exist in the St Marys county school system. This program is just a fancy term for CRT or Marxism being taught to our children. This program is everything that is wrong with the United States school system I cant believe that people would just let a program like this into their school system without doing the research on the track record of what the outcome of these programs do. Time for us the parents of the children in the St. Marys County school system to get this program thrown out of the county and make sure that our kids are not going to be indoctrinated with this silly B.S. As everyone has said time to get involved in a local level and let people know our opinions and what we stand for. Time to take a stand and do what is best for our children.
Be prepared to be called a Racist and much worse. So far most people can still be cowed into submission by that.
I would love to go to every local election Q&A session and flatly ask “Do you support CRT?”, and see every person running for office squirm and try to avoid a straight answer.
It will not get better until it gets much much worse.

Yep, this is going to get pretty ugly once the CRT reactionaries meet the Good Ol Boys and Girls of St Marys County.
