Try backyard's best, by building or buying a coop and having your own laying chickens. As an added bonus, they'll eat all the bugs and ticks in the yard.

Ya needs ta add a heater in thar coop to keep'in those chicks warm and all. And a natural sun light emitting type light, (one of those broad spectrum type lights), kept on for at least 8-12 hours a day. That'll keep'em laying.

No.

I'm curious as to why the State Fire Marshall didn't respond, unless the cause of the fire was that obvious?

There's got to be more to this story. Where's Paul Harvey when you need him?

(Before anyone corrects me, I know he's dead)

Like a lot of things, we've made the switch from Eggland's Best to Giant brand eggs to save some money on the food bill each week. Family thinks they are living high on the hog when they get a real Dr Pepper instead of a Dr Bob or a real Coke instead of Cola.

That doesn't look like a normal coop, but a converted shed, or house extension. If installed properly, and the area cleaned on a regular basis, there would be no danger of a fire. Instead of a heater, one could use a regular heat lamp mounted away from anything flammable. As long as the door to the coop is closed, it would maintain a comfortable temp for those birds.

What happened here was probably caused by negligence.
