Electic bill too high

Why can't you hang them to dry in the winter?

Yesterday I saw that the Amish off of Loveville Road had their laundry out drying. :roflmao:
My mom always hug it out in the winter. It mostly dried, and what didn't she thru in the dryer, but it did save lots on the gas bill.

Just got my bill. $128, and that's with a hottub going. Subtract $30/mo if I turn that off.

Mechville.. apparantly I live in a mansion....

I sooo dont but smeco thinks i do for some reason.
4 bedroom, 2 story cape. I try to keep the therm at 68. I think it's the portable electric heaters used in the bathroom in the morning that are doing it... They can really pull the nickels... (in this day and age, quarters...)

Electric bill-SMECO

Maybe you all read my last post on this; maybe not, but i just received a cut off notice for 600.00 or better. Stop crying please. I do not have a huge house, turn off all the lights, run my washer, dryer only as necessary; the only thing I have to have on are my 2 computers due to work. YES; before anyone asks SMECO has came out a few years before to check the meter...I contacted them again this year and now they charge a fee...THEY SUCK!!!!

I want your SECRETS!!! What size box do you live in!!! Who's changing your meter back!!! I'll buy you a drink to let me in on the secrets!!!:gossip::buddies:
My house is 1600 sq ft and we have gas heat, not electric. My gas bill averages $25-30, but the latest was a little over $50. I keep the house at 69 degrees and we typically have a lot of lights on, things plugged in, two computers going, 4 tvs, the works.

So you actually have gas and heat to pay for. My house is all electric. So no additional charges for gas. Still, when looking at it, it would not add up to the high amount I pay. My house is only 2400 foot...cape cod, 3 baths 4 bdrms..utility room, etc.. and keep it on 68 degrees with a wood stove to burn

Last month was $280. 3-bedroom 1 story house, all electric, dryer broke and so we use clothes racks to dry.

This past month was $168. Why? No dryer, kept the thermostat at 69 for day, 59 for night (it changes automatically) and...

Used a kerosene heater! That cost us maybe $45 this whole month long. Save us easily $200.

Fair trade, no?
