Liberals Praising ‘False’ Elector Indictment Previously Called For Electoral College To Vote Against Trump In 2016​

Multiple liberal legal commentators who praised Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel of Michigan for indicting 16 Republicans for attempting to file false electoral votes in the 2020 election had called for members of the Electoral College to vote against Donald Trump in 2016, according to a review of their tweets.

Nessel announced the indictment on Tuesday after the Department of Justice did not prosecute the individuals, including Michigan Republican Party co-Chair Meshawn Maddock, for allegedly signing a false certificate of electoral votes, challenging the state’s valid electoral votes for then-candidate Joe Biden. However, many of the legal commentators who praised Nessel’s decision had called on electoral college members in states that Trump won in 2016 to vote for a candidate other than him.

“Michigan, My Michigan — one truly great State! Finally an Attorney General worthy of her title. Kudos and props to Michigan AG Dana Nessel, a true public servant,” tweeted Laurence Tribe, a University Professor emeritus of Harvard Law School. Tribe, in 2016, had tweeted that “All it will take is just 12% — a bit over 1 in 10 — of the 306 Trump Electors to vote against a walking, talking impeachable offense,” appearing to encourage such a vote.

Does Trump's 'Alternate' Electors Plan Justify Criminal Charges Against Them and Him?​

Former President Donald Trump yesterday said he had received a letter from the Justice Department indicating that he is a "target" of Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation of efforts to overturn Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election. That revelation came the same day that Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, a Democrat, announced charges against 16 Republicans who had identified themselves as the state's voter-selected electors in certificates they signed on December 14, 2020.

That maneuver, which was part of a seven-state plan to prevent congressional certification of the election results, also figures in the expected federal charges against Trump, who may yet face state charges in Michigan and Georgia in connection with the same scheme. But the state and federal charges require an intent to defraud or another improper purpose, which could be a difficult element to prove. It raises the question of whether Trump sincerely believed that systematic fraud had deprived him of his rightful victory and that he was pursuing legitimate remedies for what he mistakenly perceived as a grave injustice.

One of the likely federal charges against Trump is obstruction of an official proceeding—in this case, the January 6, 2021, tally of electoral votes. A potential justification for that charge, which is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, is that Trump, by encouraging Republicans in Michigan and six other battleground states to falsely present themselves as their states' true electors, "corruptly" obstructed the congressional ceremony. Several Republican members of Congress cited those "alternate" electors as a reason for objecting to the Biden slates, and Trump repeatedly pressured Vice President Mike Pence, in public and in private, to delay or block the tally on the same basis in his capacity as president of the Senate.

The state charges against Michigan's would-be electors present a similar puzzle. They face eight felony counts, including various forgery-related charges, all of which hinge on intent. Conspiracy to commit forgery, for example, requires a scheme to "falsely make, alter, forge, or counterfeit a public record, with intent to injure or defraud." The 16 defendants did that, Nessel says, by signing "fraudulent 'Certificates of Votes'" identifying themselves as Michigan's electors. But if they honestly believed that the official results were decisively corrupted by tricky election software, phony ballot dumps, or other kinds of chicanery—meaning they were in fact the true electors—it is doubtful that they had an "intent to injure or defraud."

That defense is arguably supported by historical precedent for dueling slates of electors, each of which claimed to be the genuine article. After the 1960 presidential election, for example, there was a dispute about whether John F. Kennedy or Richard Nixon had won Hawaii. As Politico noted in its 2022 account of that dispute, it has become a touchstone for Republicans who argue that Trump's "fake electors" (as The New York Times reflexively calls them) did nothing improper, or at least nothing criminal.

"Nixon had prevailed by just 140 votes, according to the initial results, which were certified by the governor," Politico noted. When Democratic and Republican electors met on December 19, 1960, a recount was underway, and both groups signed certificates that they sent to Washington, D.C. Although they did not reflect the official results, the Democrats' certificates unambiguously identified them as "duly and legally appointed and qualified" Electoral College members. They did not mention Nixon's certified victory or the recount.

On October 8, 2020. only one month before the 2020 general election, Muskegon, MI City Clerk Ann Meisch noticed a black female (whose name was redacted from the police report), dropping off between 8,000-10,000 completed voter registration applications at the city clerk’s office.

The Muskegon Police Department was contacted and asked to investigate. On 10/21/20 First Lieutenant Mike Anderson was contacted by Tom Fabus, Chief of Investigations for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s Office. According to the MI State Police report, Mr. Fabus asked for Michigan State Police assistance with a joint investigation of alleged voter fraud being conducted by the Muskegon Police Department and the AG.

An investigative task force was formed, and an investigation was initiated.

On 10/16/20 Muskegon City Clerk Ann Meisch and Deputy Clerk Kimberly Young contacted the Muskegon Police Department after noticing irregularities in voter registration applications received both in person and by mail.

The Muskegon city clerk became suspicious when the female, (whose name is redacted in the first part of the police report, but then later, is unredacted), hand-delivered thousands of voter registrations to her office, many of them in the same handwriting.

On 10/20/20 (deadline day for in-person voter registration applications) the suspect retumed to the *Muskegon City Clerk’s office to deliver additional registration forms in person. Meisch estimated that (suspect) brought an additional 2500 forms. Meisch contacted the Muskegon Police Department and Detective Logan Anderson and Captain Shawn Bride conducted a non-custodial interview with the suspect.
Meisch stated that in her opinion a quantity of the voter registration forms were highly suspicious and possibly fraudulent.
Meisch’s opinion was based on the fact that numerous forms appeared to have been completed by the same writer and upon initial examination, addresses on multiple forms were invalid or non-existent.
Meisch investigated further and found that phone numbers on multiple forms were erroneous and signatures on multiple forms didn’t appear to match signatures on file with the Department of Secretary of State. Examples included an address in the and another in the [REDACTED]
Those addresses do not exist in the Muskegon City house numbering system. Another form listed 80 W. Southern Ave which is the address for Muskegon High School and is clearly not a residence.

Later in the report, the name of the female suspect was unredacted.

The Gateway Pundit ran an intriguing story yesterday headlined, “NOW WE HAVE PROOF! TGP EXCLUSIVE: Massive 2020 Voter Fraud Uncovered in Michigan – Including Estimated “800,000 Ballot Applications Sent to Non-Qualified Voters” – Bags of Pre-Paid Gift Cards, Guns with Silencers, Burner Phones, and a Democrat-Funded Organization with Multiple Temporary Facilities in Several States.”

The short version is that Gateway Pundit somehow received a 2020 police report and search warrant affidavit describing detailed evidence of a massive, apparently illegal, vote harvesting operation in Michigan. As the headline reports, police found bags of prepaid gift cards, cases filled with fully automatic rifles (later found to be legally purchased), a white board including an item about “weapons training,” and disposable cell phones.

The investigation was triggered when, on October 8, 2020 — one month before the 2020 general election — Muskegon Clerk Ann Meisch noticed a black female (whose name was redacted from the police report), dropping off up to 10,000 completed voter registration applications at the city clerk’s office. Meisch thought that was suspicious, and she thought a lot of the ballots looked fake, so she called police.

After a state investigation, Michigan’s attorney general referred the entire matter to the FBI, which is where the trail ends.

The police report and investigation don’t prove election fraud. But it does put the lie to repeated official claims there was “no evidence” of election fraud in 2020, particularly in the key electoral state of Michigan. And the most interesting fact, not mentioned in the article, is how Gateway Pundit got hold of the police reports. It suggests the story of the 2020 elections is far from over.

Guns, Burner Phones and Fake Registrations – The Buried Michigan Voter Fraud Scandal: GBI Strategies Director Gary Bell Had 70 Organizations Operating in 20 States in 2020 – TIED TO JOE BIDEN CAMPAIGN​

On October 8, 2020, only one month before the 2020 general election, Muskegon, MI City Clerk Ann Meisch noticed a black female, whose name was later redacted from the police report, dropping off between 8,000-10,000 completed voter registration applications at the city clerk’s office. Clerk Meisch immediately noticed that the stacks of registrations included the same handwriting, non-existent addresses, and incorrect phone numbers.

The Muskegon Police Department was contacted and asked to investigate. During their investigation, the state police discovered the women worked for GBI Strategies. This was included in their police report. The group had temporary offices in numerous Michigan locations. The police also identified Gary Bell as the head of the organization.

When the police inspected the GBI Strategies office near Muskegon they found semiautomatic guns, silencers/suppressors, burner phones, a bag of pre-paid cash cards, and incomplete registrations, in an office space that was styled as an eyeglasses store that had gone defunct.

There were never any arrests. And the investigation was turned over to the FBI where it went to die, just like all of the other Democrat voter fraud investigations. Back in November 2020 Bill Barr appointed a notorious DOJ attorney who covered up voter fraud crimes.

An investigation found that the woman worked for GBI Strategies.

GBI Strategies was funded by dark money super PAC ‘BlackPAC,’ which paid them $11,254,919 to register voters for Joe Biden.

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that during the investigation, the police found guns, burner phones, pre-paid cash cards and incomplete registrations at a defunct eyeglass store where GBI Strategies had set up operation.

Lansing — Authorities in Michigan referred a 2020 investigation into thousands of voter registrations submitted by a person in Muskegon to the FBI, Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office confirmed this week.

Nessel’s press secretary, Danny Wimmer, said the total number of suspected fraudulent forms delivered to the Muskegon clerk by the individual was 8,000 to 10,000 ahead of the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election.

However, Wimmer said, the “attempted fraud” was caught before Election Day because Michigan’s election system worked and the applicants were not added to the state’s voter rolls.

“The city clerk in Muskegon detected the fraudulent material provided and alerted the proper authorities,” Wimmer said in a statement. “A thorough investigation was conducted by multiple agencies within the state and no successful fraud was perpetrated upon the state’s election process or qualified voter file.”

The unresolved probe, which first became public in October 2020, has garnered new attention among conservative-leaning websites in recent days after the Gateway Pundit highlighted police reports about investigators’ efforts. The conservative website, which has advanced false and unproven theories in the past about voter fraud influencing Democrat Joe Biden’s victory, wrote in its headline for the story, “Now we have proof.”

However, officials in Michigan contented in recent days, the incident was proof that election administrators are capable of catching and preventing wrongdoing when it is attempted.

The person who submitted the registrations to Muskegon Clerk Ann Meisch’s office was a representative of GBI Strategies, which conducts voter registration drives and is headquartered in the state of Tennessee, Wimmer said.

“Fraud was determined to have occurred at the lowest levels of the company,” Wimmer said in a statement. “The leading internal indication was that fraud was being perpetrated against GBI Strategies by its employees to fabricate work product without conducting the work expected of them and not in explicit pursuit of defrauding the election infrastructure of the state.”

GBI Strategies received about $5 million from Democratic groups and campaigns for canvassing, voter outreach and other activities during the 2019-2020 election cycle, according to federal disclosures. Biden’s presidential campaign and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee were among those that reported expenditures to GBI Strategies over the two-year period.

Attempts by The Detroit News to reach the company were unsuccessful in recent days.

Gateway Pundit and other conservative websites have highlighted that “bags of pre-paid gift cards, guns with silencers (and) burner phones” were found during the search.
But substantiating evidence of a crime wasn’t found during the search, Wimmer said.

“Detected in this search were pay cards, pre-pay style cell phones and voter registration forms, all determined to be normal operational devices in GBI Strategies’ line of work,” Wimmer said. “Also found during the search were several firearms, which prompted a response from federal agents of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
“All detected firearms were determined by federal authorities to be legally owned and incidentally stored in the location by an employee irrelevant to the business purposes of GBI Strategies. None of the materials seized resulted in furthering evidence of voter fraud.”

Meisch didn’t respond to multiple requests for comment.

The City of Muskegon has about 38,000 residents, so 8,000 new voter registrations would equal about 21% of the population.

Wait, What Did Michigan Just Hand Over to the FBI?​

With Donald Trump’s fourth indictment looming and more tidbits dropping about the emerging Biden bribery scandal, I can see why this development in Michigan fell through the cracks. It’s a story that the Left doesn’t want to talk about in their news coverage: voter integrity. It would appear as if the FBI will be taking over a Michigan investigation into 2020 voter fraud in which thousands of fraudulent voter registrations were discovered (via Detroit News/Brunswick News):

Communications Show Trump Team Was Involved in Georgia Voting-System Breach: Report​

Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis’s office has reviewed the communications and is expected to present her case before the grand jury this week. Trump is likely to face his fourth indictment in four months.

“Just landed back in DC with the Mayor huge things starting to come together! Most immediately, we were just granted access — by written invitation! — to Coffee County’s systems. Yay!” reads one message from January 1, 2021, according to CNN. The message was sent in a group chat of colleagues from Sullivan Strickler, a law firm used by Trump’s team to review the voting systems in Coffee County, a rural Georgia county that Trump won by 70 percent.

“The mayor” appears to refer to Trump’s then-lawyer, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

That “written invitation” was reportedly authored by former Coffee County elections official Misty Hampton, who falsely told the Trump team in the days after the election that Dominion voting machines could “very easily” change votes from one candidate to another. A Trump campaign official asked Hampton in an email to “obtain as much information as possible” about the voting situation in the county.

Hampton made a video about the alleged issues with Coffee County’s voting machines which was later used by Giuliani and the rest of Trump’s legal team as part of their efforts to get other state legislators on board with their claims that the 2020 election had been stolen.

The team began looking for access to the voting systems as early as mid-December, per CNN. In the beginning of the month, Hampton delayed the certification of Biden’s win in Georgia by failing to recount results by the deadline.

Trump was presented with a draft of executive orders to seize voting machines during an Oval Office meeting on December 18. That draft mentioned Coffee County by name, according to CNN.

Hampton’s invitation to access the county’s election office came days after the Oval Office meeting.

The Muskegon Cover-Up: Gateway Pundit Investigators Visit Registration Fraud Epicenter and Find FBI Has Stalled Investigation and Silenced Officials, No Prosecutions in 3 Years​

Critical information for investigating the Muskegon Michigan voter fraud in 2020 is being illegally withheld from public review. Investigating systemic voter fraud in the 2020 election in Muskegon requires examining the 8,000-12,000 likely-fraudulent voter applications submitted by Biden campaign-financed GBI Strategies in October 2020, but those files have been withheld from public review on the argument that they are part of an ‘ongoing investigation’ by law enforcement.

This tactic for evading FOIA at the state and federal level is well-known, but its use here to deny access to public records by removing them and not including a duplicate, is unique.

According to far-left Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, these admittedly false and fraudulent voter applications were never added to the voter rolls. But no one can know for sure because the files themselves, in violation of state law, have been sealed and have been ‘under investigation’ by Nessel’s office and the FBI for three years for a criminal case with no prosecutions. There’s no way to know whether a fraudulent application wasn’t approved or later resubmitted in a less suspicious way in time to commit voter fraud in 2020.

The Muskegon Clerk Ann Meisch caught this fraud because 8,000-10,0000 were turned in by one person on one day.

And if these 8,000-14,000 total voter applications were indeed fraudulent, why has no one been prosecuted in the three years since?

Georgia Secretary of State admits botched ballot process involving MTG’s ex, blames county​

Last week, the congresswoman posted on her account on X, (formerly Twitter) about how her then-husband, Perry Greene, went to cast a ballot at a polling station in the 2020 general election but was told that he had already voted absentee. She challenged that, saying her then-husband had not requested a mail-in absentee ballot for that election. She also claimed the same happened to other voters in that polling station.

Greene wrote in her post that she and her then-husband told the story “and were both called liars, until we FOIA’d the documents.” She provided records to Just the News last Thursday and said in a statement, "We have never heard from the Secretary of State’s office, or from the Governor or from anyone about this."

Perry Greene verified his ex-wife's account directly to Just the News on Friday, adding that he signed a “Cancel Ballot Affidavit” form, on which he wrote, “I did not request one!!” and was able to cast an in-person early vote ballot. Early vote ballots are called in-person absentee ballots in Georgia.

He added that there were about three other people in line with him who experienced the same issue.

On Tuesday, the secretary of state’s office provided a screenshot of Perry Greene’s voting history, including an audit history, which shows the user ID of the person who issued his ballot.

Mike Hassinger, a public information officer with the Georgia secretary of state’s office said in a statement on Tuesday, “These screenshots of audit logs from the voter registration system show that a county worker took action to issue a ballot for the voter at 4:03PM on October 23, 2020. They subsequently canceled that ballot. Then, 5 minutes later at 4:08PM, they issued another ballot to the voter and successfully checked in the voter to allow him to vote advanced in-person.

“This suggests that the first issuance of a ballot at 4:03PM was likely poll worker error.”

After reviewing the new information from the secretary of state’s office, Perry Greene told Just the News on Tuesday, "This particular situation makes sense, but they could've answered our question a long time ago, because this happened to numerous other people."

He said that this issue should be addressed and "resolved so it doesn't happen again. They're trying to downplay it as if it's a one-off, but it's not.”

The Floyd County elections supervisor didn’t respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.

After the 2020 election, I founded New York Citizens Audit, a miraculous grassroots team of over 2,000 New Yorkers that has spent tens of thousands of hours analyzing New York’s voter rolls and election law. The most stunning fact we discovered is that New York’s 2020 general election was certified as accurate with 338,000 more votes counted than voters who voted.

338,000 votes are simply unaccounted for. No one knows who cast them. That number should be zero.

We examined our findings against the standard for a valid election. The law is stringent, because the accuracy of our elections is what secures our government by consent. In fact, elections are part of our critical national security infrastructure.

So, what is the legal standard an election must meet, in order to be certified?

1. The voter rolls must be accurate.
2. Votes cast must be from eligible voters.
3. The number of votes counted must equal the number of voters who voted.
4. The maximum number of ballots in error, for a valid federal election, is 1/125,000 (see 3.2.1).

The law does not recognize “honest mistakes” when it comes to safe-guarding our individual sovereignty. Elections in America are accurate, or they are invalid.
