We all know that the rich celebrities - sometimes even news anchors - just have no concept of life outside their bubble. They trivialize the rise of bills we pay because to THEM those costs are inconsequential. They have so much money - they can’t understand.

Watched an interview between Maher and Michael Douglas last night. Lotta cringe moments but one that stuck out to me was Douglas , surprised that only 30% of Americans have passports - the implication being that too many Americans are just too insular.

Duh. Another rich guy who doesn’t get that most Americans can barely afford to have a week’s vacation LET ALONE afford to travel ABROAD. Often. WTF?

I have one - it’s expired by now I think - because I exhausted my savings to adopt. I will likely never need it again. Not because there’s something too unsophisticated about my life.

I just can’t afford it. How did these people grow up? Were they BORN rich?

Michael Douglas was born rich.

But it just illustrates how out of touch these celebrities and politicians and such are. They have no idea how normal people live, yet they want to tell us what to think and how to be. That one nutter going, "Oh if the price of groceries is too high, make more money! Get a better job!" And still they have no idea why we overwhelmingly voted against them.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones jet off to elite resorts that cost more per week than most people make in a year, and then are like, "What? Doesn't everyone do that?"

But of course.

I was thinking of swinging down to Aruba for some fresh mangoes, and then fly off to Paris to pick up a couple of croissants.

Everybody does that crap.

Back in the 80s when I was dating the girl who became my wife, we would regularly drive over to Fredericksburg on a Friday night to eat at Morrison's Cafeteria. Does that put me in the elite class? That was a 1hr45min drive - uphill all the way - in a Pontiac none the less!

I was reading yet another “how the f did we LOSE this thing?” article. And the writer keeps making the mistakes like equating not having a college degree with being “uneducated” (newsflash - that’s true of not only about half of Hollywood but an awful lot are high school dropouts). With TRYING so hard to understand but wondering how all those rubes could vote for a criminal.

(For those not entirely getting it - most of the right thinks he had nothing to do with what went on at the Capitol - at least as little as Joe and Kamala had to do with the assassination attempts and the crazed mobs attacking Jews - we don’t give a crap that he was impeached twice because it’s obvious now that a partisan Congress can impeach someone over anything - and the 34 counts are as felonious as 34 counts of jaywalking).

So maybe I can clear things up for you. Your sneering contempt for us isn’t lost on us, but it’s never going to win our votes either. So I don’t care what you say, the fact that you despise us means, you will never have our back.

I really hope they NEVER get it. As long as they think everything is about race, they’re going to keep losing, and Republicans will keep gaining people of all races.

See, and I want them to get it. This anger and hostility and violence and flat out crazy - I'm over it. I need the media to stop feeding the mentally ill and I need sane Democrats to step up (if there are any left, and it doesn't seem so). I give no shts about the Republicans, the only reason I care about them is because now they have to get with the program or get Liz Cheney-ed.

It would be nice if politics wasn't such a cut throat cesspool filled with greedy lying mentally compromised pieces o' chit. Good men and women won't run for office because who wants a job where you have to constantly watch your back and your co-workers are people you'd never associate with? Nobody wants to work in a real life Game of Thrones. People who do have the stomach for that sort of thing aren't ones we want leading our nation.

Democrats consider China a buddy and Republicans the enemy, and that's just insane. That ****ing Mark Milley undermining our President to the Chinese - WTF?? Why is he not in a federal prison or swinging from a gallows? Can you imagine trying to work with that guy?? He probably brings fish for lunch and heats it in the microwave.
