Email worm

How do I get rid of a worm that is emailing everyone on my yahoo address book?
It attaches this (or similar) link.

I was getting these emails for awhile from another yahoo user too.

Here's what I found thru google.

Your email address is being spoofed. What that means is that someone who has you in his/her address book has a virus infected computer. The virus goes through that address book, sending emails to people in the address book, and making them appear to actually be sent from another address in that address book. In this case, your email addy.

The undeliverable emails are being sent from that same computer to addresses that no longer exist and being delivered to you because your email is in the header as the sender.

Nothing you can do about it short of closing that Yahoo account and creating another.

This may be a dumb question, but did you try changing your email password? I had something similar, I'm guessing, where something got ahold of my password and I kept getting hundreds of returned undeliverable emails a day. Changed the password and haven't had a problem since then.

Maybe try cleaning your computer and change the password using another source. Or.. close your email account and start another :shrug:

I will change my PW. I really don't want to create another account since I have had this one for years. I'll close it if I have to though. Thanks.

I dont keep a address book in any of my email programs, any email address's I save are in notepad outside of my email..no issues with that crap

You may end up having to close down if changing the password doesn't work. I've had family members that had this exact same problem and changing the password didn't stop it. They ended up closing the account and opening a new one. Hope this helps.
