Empire Today GUTTER SCAM!!

Less that two years ago, we had our gutters replaced with very expensive "no-clog" gutters from Empire Today, who we thought was a respectiable company.

When we called for service, we received a call back with the following message on July 8, 5:24 from 14109236216.

"This message is for Mr and Mrs. Basham. This is Nikia calling from Empire regarding your gutters. I was just calling as a follow-up to inform you that we are no longer in the home improvement business. So Empire does not have anyone just come out to do any repairs for your gutters. Empire covers the gutters for a one year limited warranty which will be forwarded to you through the mail. Also, we do not unclog gutters which is located in your warrenty, again will be forwarded to you. If you have any questions or concens please feel free to give us a call. Thank you."

A couple of notes:

- When we bought our gutters a little more than a year ago, we were given a lifetime warranty that indeed including cleaning clogs, since these were very expensive NON-CLOG gutters.

- Since when can a company give you one warranty when you purcace a product, then unilaterally decide to change it after you've already paid your money for the product WITH the warranty!

I've got all the documentation, as well as a recording of this phone call. Any suggestions for the next place this compaint??

7 on your side is great. My parents contacted 7 news when a large TV store in Landover had our TV hostage. It was the Mid to late 70's and they (7 news) took care of business. After being contacted by Paul Berry, the company called us and we picked up our fully fixed TV.:yahoo:

You are right! I just called.

I just caught this thread when I was looking to call them to do my garage.

They aren't installing anymore! I just had mine done on the house this Spring. So, I am still under the 1 year warranty. I'm going to go over my gutter with a fine tooth comb.

I will tell you.....Leafguard Gutter is the only alternative. And, yes, their gutter is nicer. However, their prices are an out and out rip off. The reason I went with Empire is they were much more reasonable than Leafguard gutter (under the new owners, that is).

And if you are under trees, they will still need to be flushed out, occassionally. Nothing is clog free when you live in the woods.

Ack

I got gutters from them a year ago, so far they have been great but this is disturbing.

Before I was cleaning them out atleast once a week and often during rain storms.
