Endocrinologist?

Anyone ever had to take their children to an Endocrinologist? My son's pediatrician has referred us. Seems our little man is right where he should be for everything but height. What experiences has anyone had??

He's below the 5th percentile in height. He's 3 and only 34 1/4 inches tall.

Me and both my parents are short, but hubby and his family were tall. They want to rule out any underlying problems w/ the endocrinologist just to be on the safe side.

I think the sooner your appointment, the sooner, you'll have you mind put to ease. A girlfriend of mine had to take her son, crap, this was years ago. :bawl: Almost 16 years ago. I saw him not too long ago, and he is ever bit of 6 foot tall. And driving. :ohwell:

I agree. The sooner the better .. for me at least. My MIL says hubby was pretty short until his high school years and then he shot up. I guess I still have some hope!

My DH is reading your post laughing his ass off. He said, tell that girl you were 4'6" in the 9th grade and now your 5'7".

I was trying to forgot about that. :lmao:

He very well could be that way. I remember going back to school in September and everyone thinking I'd lost weight. :dork: No, I just grew several inches.

CG, if you want peace of mind, call, make the appointment and get the 1st available.

What's it 2 U
The appointmemt should put your mind at ease, from the other posts it sounds like you don't need to worry, because he may have a growth spurt later.

A doctor wanted me to take my oldest to an endocrinologist when she was young. The doctor was no more than 5 feet tall and she doing my daughter's physical. My daughter was only 8 at the time, but she has always been in the 95% for height, since she was born. So this doctor goes on and on about how worried she is that my daughter is so tall and she thinks I should go to a specialist, blah, blah, blah. I was all worried and nervous thinking there is something wrong with her. So I leave and call my momma who says, puhlease! There is nothing wrong with her and just ignore the doctor, which I did. She is now a healthy 13 year old standing 5'7" tall.
