Engine stands? Yeah, this guy knocked one together

I just think about the hours of labor, the materials which probably were NOT all laying around, the cost of the machine tools, air compressor, painting rig, etc., and I'm forced to conclude that the guy did it because he wanted to and because he could. Engine stands are expensive but they're not THAT expensive. Just the cost of cutting oil and welding rod and primer and paint would have covered the cost of renting the stand.

But that's just it - we hobbyists do things because we want to and because we can. The finances are sometimes painful, but the hours spent doing things are priceless.

Picked up some really nice skills along the way.. Laid down some nice beads too.. Awesome job and he didn't do it overnight...

lets see....probably over 300K at his disposal to "mock up" some stuff to make an engine stand you can buy at Harbor Freight for $150.00.........hmmmmmm
