Larry Gude
Strung Out
...very much.
Initially, when Malone and Payton joined up with the Lakers, I thought it was kinda interesting, but as the season wore on, it began to feel very cheap; two guys who would be stars on ANY team playing virtually for free in regards to their market worth.
Now, I do feel bad for the injured Malone, having played so many years and come so close, but, overall, it's better for the game if a team works to become a TEAM, like the Pistons, and come together over several years, as they have, and work towards the goal.
The Lakers tried to buy it with a thrown together psuedo All Star team and it ain't working.
Of course, they ain't dead yet and most everyone has been surprised by how much better the Pistons are when the Lakers were suppossed to walk away with it. There were reasons for feeling this way.
So, we'll see. The best team is winning so far.
