That's real nice, :sarcasm:. Hubby's on travel so I haven't been subjected to ESPN. Is this after the race this past weekend?

The first positive test was before Richmond. Dumb Ass gave the Clairitan excuse and argued it was a false-positive, and NASCAR gave him the benefit of the doubt and let him race at Richmond and conducted a second more thorough test.

Dumb Ass turns up positive again. NASCAR tosses him. Dumb Ass says it's "Clairitin and another prescription drug for allergies." NASCAR says he's lying. Ass sues NASCAR, says it's Adderall. NASCAR says he's lying again, and countersues. Now, we learn it's meth.

Apparently, Dumb Ass's next excuse is going to claim he inhaled fumes from the cars.

Was he on meth while actually racing??? If so I think he should not only be suspended but charged with dui or whatever you get charged with when driving high. If this was on the regular roadway, with a regular person,he would be in jail. He put alot of innocent people at risk. I hope nascar is alot more strict with the so called zero tolerence policy than the NFL is!!

He said he was taking Adderall. This will give this result. All he needs is documentation from his Dr. I have taken it in the past and had the same results. My Dr. verified this.

He was tested twice, and NASCAR says that's not what triggered the positive.

If Adderall gives you a positive result for meth, why are you allowed to drive?

On the warning labels they give you when you get the script from the pharamacy it does tell you to not to drive until you know how your body is going to handle the medication. Also says not to comsum large quantities of items containing caffine as it will increase the effects.

IF it was Adderall, he should've notified NASCAR before the positive drug test and he was still in violation of the Substance Abuse Policy. NASCAR says it wasn't Adderall.

If this is true, that Dumb Ass was on Meth, he should never be allowed near a racecar again. He put a lot of people in danger -- that's just as bad as Aaron Fike racing while he was high in heroin. :faint:

My thoughts exactly. If he was on Adderall, and if what JWWB said is true (that it's written on the label about the operating machinery :blahblah:, and given the fact he drives at over 100 mph for a living, I'd think the doctor would at least "advise" him to inform NASCAR of his Rx. If NASCAR cleared him to drive, then all is good. But if NASCAR said "No, I don't think you should drive...reduce the dosage or try something different" or something.

I heard NASCAR wasn't saying anything, due to the gag order. Which isn't good for Mayfield's case either.

And I agree. IF this is the case, he needs to be permanently banned from NASCAR. Even his presence at the track as a paying spectator should be deemed "Actions detrimental to racing".

I know for a fact the medication sheet given with the prescription from Target indicates this along with a lot more information on the medication as well.

•Adderall may affect your ability to perform tasks that require complete concentration, such as driving, operating machinery, or piloting an airplane, especially during the first few weeks of treatment. It is recommended that you discuss this with your healthcare provider.

Ha, Ha. This makes me think of the movie Days of Thunder, when Harry says it must be not be happening if experts like You and NASCAR don't see it.

 Love that movie.

I'm sure it will all come out in the wash as they say. Still, I don't understand why people think they won't get caught doing stuff like this. It's not like they're not told random drug testing will/won't happen. Geesh.
