I wish ESPN had the full schedule for Nextel Cup. Far better than FOX.
You're kidding right?? :faint: You're crazy!!! I hope they lose it. Commentators are lame. THEY SUCK!!

I don't like Jerry Punch. I wish they'd put Allen Bestwick in the booth.

The music, graphics, prerace and everything else is better though.

I agree - Allen Bestwick (statue hair) was really good. Darryl Waltrip and Larry Mac know their stuff, but DW just goes over the top with his attempts to be cute sometimes (same as he did when he was racing). I wish he could keep it in check and I would also be fine if I never had to hear his "boogity, boogity, boogity" catchphrase EVER again.... And I like Larry Mac, but it's hard enough to admit to being a NASCAR fan without being thought of as an ignorant rube and he just plays into that stereotype a little too much. I would also like it if they could take some of the junk off the screen so we could actually see the top and bottom of the track while the cars are running, too. I heard Rusty Wallace call an Indy race and he did a nice job. I hated him as a racer, but he's a great commentator.

Quick, I know people read Any's NASCAR threads before anything else and I need a quick answer.

How much do you tip the carside to go people at Outback?

But wait, there's more...
I park in "carside" parking, and go in for my stuff vs waiting for them to come out. And I don't tip them. I don't tip for carry-out. The only favor they're doing for me is cooking it, which is already factored into the price.

I also notice how it seems EVERYONE in the restaurant biz is asking for tips ... tonight, when I picked up my pizza, there was a tip jar for cooks.

I gave them 3 bucks

FOX's graphics were perfect last year, why they went and effed them up is beyond me. Three full bars is way too much GUI.

I hate hate hate Larry MacReynolds. I think you hit it right on target with FOX. Darrell tries too hard to be an effing comedian and Larry's southern accent definently plays into the "redneck" stereotype.

I personally liked the Wally, Benny and Allen setup and I liked TNT's Busch Series Coverage when they had Bill Weber, Wally Dallenbach and Kyle Petty. Weber's a great commentator, he just ####s up on air too much "Kevin Harvick sweeps at Bristol, at Richmond. I meant Richmond." Drove me insane when he did that. :burning:

ESPN's biggest drawback is Tim Brewer. He's smart and all, but he's anything but entertaining. I don't like Jerry Punch's voice - I wish they had Allen Bestwick or brought back Bob Jenkins to call the play-by-play. I don't like Brent Musburger but the ESPN NASCAR Countdown is growing on me, 5 times better than the race coverage. I also love the "Back in the Saddle" intro.

The other reason I liked NBC was they were far better about commercials. They'd break in if trouble broke out, and when they did the final 80 laps at Atlanta commercial-free, I was impressed. FOX is just in bed with their advertisers.
