Buddy of mine used to do an underground metal mag and knew and had Lem's phone number something like 20-25 years ago. Said the same thing about him then; a genuine, sincere, nice dude. I have my doubts about Grohl because he tends to have a fair bit of Lemmy in what could be seen as promotional themes but, yeah, Lemmy was truly one of the rare real deals.
