Lerner is a great store for work attire. Kohls has a cute line by Daisy Fuentes, and another, though I can't remember the name.

IMO - it's not inappropriate if worn appropriately... Say it's a Friday.. wear it with a sport coat and slacks - Black sport coat, grey slacks, black heels...
Don it with a simple neck item... For happy hour with the crew, replace the blazer with a sweater - less stuffy... If you're going out - take off the over wear, dazzle up the neck, blah and blah...

A rather overweight and generally unattractive Government person wore one of those to the meeting last week. She looks like a really overweight Bride of Frankenstein anyway, and the teddy didn't do anything for her.
