Ever seen a tick on a dogs tongue?

Lucky for me, he got it this AM, and had a vets appointment at the WellPet Clinic.

OMG. Never heard of such a thing. I am curious as to what the vet says!

Last summer my dog had one on his tongue, it was right in the middle. It took awhile to get it off.

Vet tech said "Whoa, that is a tick, hold on while I get the Vet". Vet said "Damn, that is a tick, if I were you I would call Frontline". then four of us held the dog down, one person grabbed the tongue, and the vet used forceps to pull it off.

Not on a dog but I found 1 on a cat before. Vet plucked it right off. (cat was there for shots already)

Poor pup.
YIKES- guessing it would take 4 or more people to hold ME down if there were a tick on MY tongue..

Yes! I was in the vet's office last summer when a man brought his beautiful black lab in with a huge tick on its tongue. It was so funny to watch - tech would go to look at it and the dog would close his mouth as teh tech got close - and then out the big old tongue would come with that big lab smile as she pulled away, back and forth they went for a few times before she gave up and said the vet would have to have a look. Didn't stick around to find out how they got it off, but it had me laughing the whole way home, thinking about the hide and seek game that went on with the tech and dog. Labs have the best smile.

Same thing, wife and I got the full view, but he played with the tech for a while before she got a good look at it. Luckily, being half Kees and half Corgi, he's got a pretty laid back disposition

On the cats tongue?

Yep, the vet was doing a general check up, looked at the cats tongue said what is that? He looked again said yep just what I thought its a "Tick" he says hold the cats mouth open and let me pluck it out of there. (Ever try to hold a cats mouth open? That can ruin your day, lol )
