What type of bulldogs are the short, stocky ones?...like the two in the picture. Cute by the way.

Mine are AKC Bulldogs. Those "other" ones aren't AKC Bulldogs, those are
American Bulldogs (not sure what started these?) and
Olde English Bulldogges (basically a mix between the AKC bulldogs dogs and American Bulldogs)
Accept no imitations

Those are English bulldogs, compared to Mastiff Bulldogs or what's seen more around here the American Bulldog.What type of bulldogs are the short, stocky ones?...like the two in the picture. Cute by the way.
Actually, that's untrue. American, Mastiff and English bulldogs are all recognized as legitimate and certifiable breeds. Just depends on the breeder and lineage as to the level of their paperwork. :shrug:

None of which are regsiterable by the AKC except the true Bulldog (like mine).
Mastiffs of course are AKC, but not "mastiff bulldog" whatever that is? Maybe the Olde English Bulldogge?
those other breeds created their own loose registries over time.
I like American bulldogs, and think all the colors are cool.

I remember visiting Kimbertall (SHIVVER) many many moons ago. They have a huge cage made of wrought iron, strong enough for a lion, in the middle of the circular driveway, with HUGE boulders in it, and there were a pair of Neos in it. I had no idea what they were....or even if they were dogs
I was just a teenager. Their ears were cropped REAL short and spikey.

Yeah, I love her...VERY dedicated to her breed, very involved in rescue. She is good friends with the woman who owned Abbey's dad and has the grandfather. She now breeds Frenchies exclusively but still owns a few Boxers.

I beg your pardon, I mis-spoke the Bullmastiff and English is AKC and the American is NKC and UKC.
I guess to me the "difference doesn't really matter. I think it's silly really, to argue it because either way they have "papers" which is fine if that's what you are concerned with.
A pet is a pet, and I doubt it matters to many pet owners if their dog has any papers.
As I said before, she's really a cutie.

AKC Bulldogs aren't called "English" Bulldogs, although many people call them that because of the other breeds I guess. They're just plain ole Bulldogs.
Any way you slice it....their toots STINK more than any dog I've ever lived with.
