Revelation 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
This is where I found the Study Guide. And the dead were judged according to their works: If people are not listed in the Book of Life, then each one is judged according to his works. Those who refuse to come to God by faith will, by default, be judged (and condemned) by their works.
Everyone... everywhere... will be judged. If your name is on the rolls in Heaven... if you accepted Jesus as your personal savior.... your judgement will go easier. You will still answer for what you did... but as one of God's Children... not like those who refused to Believe.
But... you might ask... what about the guy who was always kind and good and loving and generous.... what about the guy who followed the Second Commandment of Jesus... "Love One Another"... but didn't get the first one... because for some reason he thought God had to be dead... what about that guy?
He will be judged on his works... beware though... one of his works being counted is his repeated refusal to "Love God with all your heart soul and mind". That's a big no no.... and he will answer for that... but it will be offset some... by his works.
That's what I think this says.
If your name is in the Book.... I bet you get in a quicker line!
Everyone... everywhere... will be judged.
