Ex-Clinton Aide Charges Republicans 'Want to Kill Us'

Super Genius
Paul Begala is such a moron... :ohwell:
Republicans, he said, "want to kill us."

"I was driving past the Pentagon when that plane hit" on Sept. 11, 2001. "I had friends on that plane; this is deadly serious to me," Begala said.
Yeah, 9/11 was all about Republicans wanting to kill you. Get over yourself Paul.
A panel discussion entitled "Winning the War of Ideas" centered on topics discussed in the book "What's the Matter with Kansas" by Thomas Frank and detailed the challenges that Democrats face in persuading voters in the American heartland and elsewhere to embrace their agenda and support their candidates.
Maybe if they actually had some ideas and an agenda, they might get somewhere. :dur:
Begala also included Republican domestic policies in his sweeping criticism. The GOP, he said, "ain't had a new idea since they opposed Social Security, and guess what, they still do. ... They are beginning to figure out that there is no Soviet Union, but they still want Star Wars to stop it," Begala said.

You'll notice...

"They want to kill me and my children if they can. But if they just kill me and not my children, they want my children to be comforted -- that while they didn't protect me because they cut my taxes, my children won't have to pay any money on the money they inherit," Begala said. "That is bulls*** national defense, and we should say that."

...that Paul is, obviously, yet another employee of the VRWC. In last weeks meeting it was agreed that it would be best to shut down Dean for awhile because of the threat, however small, that the left would start to catch on.

So, we activated Paul to fill some column space.

"Okay, they are utterly and completely brain-dead," echoing comments earlier this year by Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who accused Republicans of being "brain dead."

See how we nicely keep the theme running?

And this jewel:

They didn't have any problem with Hitler. I won't go so far as to say they thought Hitler rocked. But there were people in America who did, and they didn't want us to get in that war.

...but then...

did not mention one of the most vocal opponents of U.S. intervention in World War II: Democrat Joseph P. Kennedy, who was one of Roosevelt's top fundraisers

Hey, just because they work for us doesn't mean they suddenly stop being stupid. A sub committee is starting to explore wether or not they'll actually do this stuff for free. We're running out of Che Gueverra T shirts.

They might:

Former Clinton administration Chief of Staff John Podesta told the students that "you can fight hard for what you believe without breaking the law, without cheating and certainly without checking your morals at the door."

Podesta did it with a straight face. They practiced enough.

When Carville does this, he's SO over the top that it's humorous because he's such a character. When Begala does it, he just comes off as a beady-eyed bulging forehead in a tacky suit.

Give up, Paul - you suck at this.

I nominate this for Quote of the Year. :killingme

This guy is some kind of idiot. He makes no sense at all.

He's right, though. We do want to kill him!

...we most certainly do not. We need to hear MORE from Begala and Podesta and Carville and the gang. I can't even remotely relate to the desire to not hear these peoples words. I want everyone to hear and know what they think and what they stand for.

The media never fails to bail them out when someone else points out what they say. Their own words are another matter.

Now ole Paul is just a wee bit misdirected with those sorta statements, but he does not suck at political consulatation. Running the only winning campaigns for a Democrat since the 1970s shows that he has some serious abilities to sell a candidate to the public.

He doesn't have to - he's talking to liberal college kids.

Most liberal and most conservative college kids do not wish to listen to people who make sense. For some reason, younger people are more inclined to have a knee-jerk ideological reaction to everything regardless of partisan label. I have seen this firsthand in my life; for liberal friends, everything Bush does is awful and everything done by Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller suggests that they are nothing but DINOs. For my conservative friends, every single action of the Bush Administration is infallible and the actions of Olympia Snowe, John McCain, and Lincoln Chaffee are just merely liberal actions.

Because of this dynamic, whenever politician types speak to college kids, they often use the most outlandish rhetoric, bring up the most pointless issues, and use as much profanity as possible....cuz it's cool to use profanity and to say the other guy is a Nazi, fascist, baby-killer, etc.

I didn't say he sucked at political consultation - I said he sucked at ranting and being outrageous. And, frankly, I think Clinton's win can be more attributed to himself, Carville and Morris. All three are incredibly talented and Clinton gave them a great product to work with. Begala is just an angry idiot who's best left to the already brainwashed college kids.

Fair enough, but Dick Morris wasn't involved with the 92 campaign and his role in the 96 campaign was minimal. His role was more about dealing with the Gingrich Congress.

Well, they do say that "no publicity is bad publicity" in the entertainment industry, maybe that applies to politics also.

I think you're right. Since Cross Fire was cancelled Begala hasn't gotten any notice or publicity.
