exodus 20:4

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

as you can see artists have no choice but to take salvation into their own hands. you can't NOT have an ego. whether you superimpose it on a book or not is your own business. Consider Manifest Destiny. Are we to believe that God willed his followers to slaughter native americans and take their land? this is purely ethnocentric mentality that continues to this day. Call me crazy, call me ignorant, call me whatever you like but sometimes it takes a child to come along and point out that you aren't wearing any clothes.

Not dead yet.
---or you can just accept that ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's grace and are in need of redemption. That's what the New Testament is about when you get down to it.

Hope that this doesn't come off badly. Not meaning to be preachy or snyde. Just stating the facts.

This passage is simple and pure as the word is.

Spin it how you like.

They're not fights, they're debates.
NOT when the person proposing the discussion appears to be on drugs.

I still can't see the connection between 'Manifest Destiny' and 'Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image'. I mean, why not just link it to 'seatbelt laws'?

Your first mistake was trying to make any sense out of what dazed posted.
