Expelled for spanking...

Last year, we had to do debates on hot topics...and one group debated spanking in public schools -- and this was a topic suggested by the teacher, so I don't understand what kind of college that kid went to -- never heard of LeMoyne anyway.

Anyway, I hate the idea that to do well in class you have to always agree with the professor -- the kids that suck up and never go up against the teacher usually get the better grades. Which really sucks...sophomore year, I had a teacher in political science who always went on about the democratic party and made mean jokes about Pres. Bush. So one day I stayed after class to let him know I thought that was unfair to other students and disrespectful to the president...he gave me a strange look and was like "well I'm a democrat, if you don't agree with class discussion, just raise your hand and say something." Several class periods after that, I kept raising my hand to make a point, and he always looked right at me and called on someone else.

"There is no clean dividing line between a person's opinions and his or her ability to make responsible professional judgments," Shedd said in an e-mail.

In other words, "thought crime." That means the liberal schools are now teaching that you should be prosecuted (persecuted?) for holding an unpopular belief even if you don't act on that belief. In this case there was no due process so you couldn't characterize it as prosecution.

Yep - welcome to the left-wing, the self-proclaimed champion of free speech, opponent of censorship, and proud defender of tolerance and diversity.

I've YET to meet a liberal professor that shows the slightest bit of tolerance for opposing views.

Liberals don't believe in winning a discussion or debate with someone with an opposing view. They must crush the opposing view out of existance. "Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up and you can't change it."
