Exxon Leaving Retail Gas Business

Does anyone else remember when Exxon and other started taking over these gas stations from the local owners.?
They jacked up rentals and went down the street and opened up at cheaper prices and drove the local businessmen from their stations, Now the SOB's want to get out because they ruined it for local owners. They drove out the service station owners and opened quick shops and now that these people are forced out now they dont want it again.
