Eye Scanning in Orlando

They started eye scanning at the Orlando Airport.

My question is, how is an eye scanner going to verify identity? As far as I know, my eyes haven't been scanned, so they aren't going to be in any database. Maybe you go, get scanned to get in the database using your fake ID and then get scanned to verify you are the person in your fake ID.

I guess, as the article says

"Employees irises will be enrolled for the additional layer of security."

this is one method to ensure employees are the only ones trying to get into employee-only areas. If you work there, I'll bet they scan the employees and put the data in the database.
