I think it's chill factor is much higher than Doom's, Half-Life's, or any of the others. SloMode is interesting and the visions are just -- nothing like trying to worry about the physical bad guys while you keep getting visions of "walkers", "the girl ", or other stuff happening around you. It adds to the tension of the game. I suggest putting on a great set of headphones, turning the volume up, and getting lost in the environment. It is especially great at night.

Oh yeah, the Director's Cut is only $5 more and has a neat little Machinima of the game plus some other stuff. The main benefit to the Director's Cut is it comes on 1 DVD instead of multiple CD's.
