Fair and Balanced

A federal judge Friday denied Fox News Channel's request for an injunction to block humorist Al Franken's new book, whose title mocks the Fox slogan "fair and balanced."
U.S. District Judge Denny Chin said Fox's claim was "wholly without merit, both factually and legally."

That was kinda dumb, I thought....

 I like to watch the Fox News programming, but I really didn't see they had a snowball's chance in hell of getting the judiciary to rule against Franken.

It's not as if Fox had a patent on the slogan. I guess it just turned into a major ####ing contest between them.

However low-life it may have been for him to decide to go forward with using Foxs' slogan, it is important to realize that is how the left operates.

Franken, loves to jab a red hot poker into the side of O'reilly's network from time to time.

It will be interesting to see what Fox comes up with in response.

The next broadcast for O'reilly is Monday night, 8:00pm; will there be fireworks?

I doubt that Fox will have much to say, but you can bet your a$$ that Franken will be making the rounds at CNN, MSNBC, etc., talking about how he beat Fox.

:barf: No doubt!

We all know how left-biased the news is, so there should be a great celebration on CBS, NBC, and ABC.

Since Fox has been kicking their tail in the ratings game for years now, this will generate a higher percentage of coverage.

Will this decision have an effect on Foxs' future in the aforementioned ratings game?

So you noticed...

Yeah, I have a new job, and it dosen't allow for much on-line interaction. How about nil?

So, I've been reduced to browsing on my off days; sometimes at night during the week a little, and I have been trying to stay up with what you oldtimers have been yakking about.

The recent bannings I've been reading about are bringing back old memories!

Oh, we do need replies in that thread. They would like us to give them a head count early tomorrow afternoon, so they can be ready for us.

Yep. The whole mess was literally laughed out of court, as it should've been, IMO.

Al Franken had a rather salient observation on the irony of the whole thing, but I can't remember what it was. Perhaps I'll try to find it.

That's OK, if you can't find it, there'll only be about - um - maybe 4 people who will find it interesting.

The biggest problem I see with Al Franken is a humongous ego; somebody told him he was funny, an interesting read, and had something good to say.

The unbelievable part about it is: He took them at their word!!

I'm betting that ABC would grouse over use of "Are you ready for some football?" and NBC would be ####ed if someone wrote a book called "Must-See TV". But it would be stupid, too.

I think Al Franken DOES have a problem. He's been fairly rabid about O'Reilly.

I always think it's funny the way the libs go after O'Reilly like he's some major right-winger. :killingme Note to libs: Conservatives tend to think O'Reilly is a liberal.

As an :offtopic:, I was watching CNN this morning and they were reading comments from viewers about some poll they just did. The poll was basically, "Given that Iraq has become a quagmire and the US doesn't have a clue how to rebuild, what should be done?" Not surprisingly, every viewer comment they read said, yes, Iraq is a quagmire and George Bush is a lying villain. Does that mean that everyone who watches CNN thinks this way, or does it mean CNN only CHOSE to read certain letters?

When Fox does something like that, they ALWAYS alternate viewpoints. And I mean ALWAYS. So I just think it's interesting that Democrats are always busting on Fox for bias, yet think CNN is real reporting.

Polls are frequently worded so that the desired outcome becomes the result. It's not just CNN who does it.

BTW, here's one registered Democrat who doesn't pay much attention to CNN, Fox, or any one news source as completely unbiased. Except, of course, for the Washington Post.
