Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Someone once said.... "all you have to do to be saved.... is say it." The main problem with that is.... some maniacal murderer could find salvation at the last second and all those murders would be wiped clean. Another problem with that is.... just saying isn't really believing... is it? Just saying isn't understanding what we are asking for.Then someone said.... "God is good.... He'll forgive you.... just tell Him you're sorry". That reminds me of the commercial about the cereal.... "Let's ask Mikey... He won't eat it.... He hates everything"..... like saying "go ask God... He will forgive anything!"......The main problem with that is.... some people think it's a ticket to sin.
As a few of you might have read.... I once hear a "sermon" in a gay bar located one block off the Baltimore Block. Just because someone claims to be a preacher, priest, rabbi, Sunday School teacher or just teacher.... it doesn't mean they are really Children of God. Humans say a lot of crap that just isn't true.
If you are really sorry.... you will ask God to lead you to change your ways.... you won't ask for forgiveness.... just help.
If you are really a Child of God you won't be asking God for a pardon... you'll be begging Him to forgive you for tarnishing His Name.
A Child of God is capable of repentance.
John the Baptist was beheaded by a leader of the people for the sake of a lewd dance. Why is it so easy for us to recognize the ills of Salome yet we allow our preachers to rape our children or steal millions from the government for non-existent church workers.... and still preach? They even build glass houses... crystal palaces.... and we don't recognize them for who they are.... Fakes....
