Fallujah or Volusia?

Someone on the news kept pronouncing Fallujah as "Volusia" and I wondered for a second if there was a riot during Spring Break at Daytona or something.

That's the problem when you get two alphabets that don't have a 1:1 correlation.


I remember back in the day, it took me MONTHS to realize that Qaddafi, Kadafi, and Gaddafy were all the same person.

Doesn't his name begin with that hocking-a-loogie consonant that's also in Spanish (hghghghg-alapeño) and Hebrew (hghghghg-utzpah)?
